In order for me to draw Sonic
I have to do what I call "Scetch Art". I shape out the head, add the lines that tell you where the eyes, the nose and the mouth go, then I shape out the body. Well, you get the idea :)

wow now that is a great drawing of sonic, the nose is a little long but it's a great drawing
