Reviews for "The Orphan: Part 3"

NICE

holy sweet mother of devine fuck, i love that, its to short though, make a whole bunch and that should really be made a movie,

Whoa

Gave me the chills, couldnt finish it, GREAT ANIMATION!!!!

Nice build up

The only bad thing I can say about the series is that there are a few plotholes.

2nd Flash - He drives by an old man(?) but doesn't react to him, not even a glance.
2nd Flash - When he goes to sleep at the end something is creeping around, the flash ends, and in the 3rd flash he wakes up in his car.
3rd Flash - He sees those freaky pics in the store (rikimaru3 - it is Cyclops Store, you can see a pic of a cyclops to the right of the name) and instead of driving the hell out of the town he goes back to the freaky ass cabin. Although, a lack of common sense is a strong trait of characters in horror movies so I can swallow that easily.

Other then those few quirks, this is some good stuff. I especially like the build up leading to the third episode, including the face flickering in the door in the 2nd flash. I don't think I'll be able to visit Kelowna without checking outside my windows at night. :D

Foolscap responds:

I've got to be honest with you, if I personally thought I saw that many flaws in a movie, I wouldn't have given it a 10 but since you were apparently so forgiving I just thought I would briefly clarify a few things.

You're not the only one to think otherwise but having Drugal wake up in his car was in fact, done deliberately. I think you'll notice that Drugal is fairly confused to find himself there, at least until a more pressing need draws his attention away from the strangeness of his situation.

As to your other points I will admit that Drugal lacks some common sense and isn't a terribly observant person. However, I think you'll concede that with the current state of his life (his abandonment by family and friends and his sudden uprooting) he may not be all that attentive to things occurring outside his troubled mind or fully capable of processing that information, especially considering its cryptic nature.

Either that or he's an idiot. It's up to you.

Cool

I like the way there is always summet scary at the end of each part god now this is a great scary movie

This is great at creating a very tense atmosphere. As for the willing suspesion of disbelief, not so much. The protagonist does not have a shred of skepticism about the house? Really? It's not that believable to me. The great animation makes up for that though. I think the choice to make Drugal silent after part 1 was wise. The lack of dialogue adds to the suspense. It's such a shame that there will probably never be a conclusion due to the creator's inactivity, but in a way, the lack of finality is eerie too.

Also, the framed portrait of Ed Gein wasn't enough of a clue that something was horribly wrong (aside from the filth and disrepair)?
