Ok, but needs work.
Theoretically I can see this being a good game. The main problem at the moment, however, is that its too difficult to hit the targets. I had a few targets that were directly above the cannon, and I would fire a fully charged shot directly into it, but nothing would happen. This happened consistently, so it made the game too hard to play. If you fix this though, it would be a fun game.

The idea is not very original...
I've seen much better games from the same style as this one. Also, your game had some mistakes, like the fact when you shoot and asteroid, even if you shot him right, sometimes it doesn't count as if you've shot him. Fix that.
Anyway, 2/5. Make some improvements next time.

It's all right, but it seems to need some work - the aiming is totally not right. I could hit an asteroid with a fully powered beam twice but nothing happened - it seems you had to get your aim dead straight, which even I found hard; you said this game is for children - they'll find it hard, for sure, unless the aiming is sorted. Other than that, it's an okay game.
