Reviews for "We Are Legend:Arockalypse"

I liked it

for its difference i mean i havent seen a lot of these "Guitar Hero Clones" but this doesnt seem like an imitation rather than a game that uses the gh system as a base concept for a original game. on the downside i personally found it pretty difficult to wrap my head around the vertical bar rather than horizontal<--dont you hate it when you think about a word so much it never looks right?) also the songs were a touchable drab...no offence if there is any personal involvement i just felt that the game could have done better with some stupid crazy black metal....last thing i loved the dialog at the start it was very well written, very dark before springing parody on you...7..keep it up

Didn't have that amazing polish

I loved the theme, and thought the overall idea was fantastic. The upgrades were cool, and the overall game was really nice.

But, the main place that I thought you dropped the ball was not in the lack of intuitive controls, but in the execution of the rhythms. There were many times where the zombie didn't perfectly match up with the rhythm in the game, and other times where your zombie placement made no sense. Your sense of rhythm, in my opinion, needs to get better before I can give you a ten. (By the way, I'm a high school drum major, so I have a bit of knowledge in this field)

JohnnySedona responds:

You hit the nail on the head with that- if the rhythm was completely off, I'd never know the difference. Personally, I know absolutely nothing about rhythm or musical timing- it wasn't until after I'd posted the game here that someone commented about music being measured in quarters and eigths of a second. I set this one up so that the zombies would come at sixths of a second (or maybe it was fifths). Either way, setting up the zombies that would come with the music was by far the most challenging part for me- I didn't even know where to begin researching, so I pretty much winged it.
I'm not surprised that someone who's musically adept would notice the problems with the rhythm- maybe next time I can recruit some of you guys to test the timing...

An interesting take on Rythm Games

I only played on easy-mostly because I just wanted to check it out, and by the time I played through all the songs on all the skill levels, I was bored. I'll come back later and play on standard. The only thing I have to say is that different zombie-types for each trap lane would make it more enjoyable, bust up the monotony of an endless stream of grey. And the musinc you chose was good, but a little off for the overall image of the game. I was expecting more heavy metal than techno, but I still enjoyed it. This would be really interesting to see as a Guitar hero/Rock Band mini-game...

good game

Your game was great and really original I'm glad you gave so many options to make it easier because the normal standard mode was pretty tough but the one problem with the game was the control scheme was hard to grasp at first but that aside great game

Well

9 is my vote

JohnnySedona responds:

Useless as that review may be, the 9's really mean a lot to me- more than the tens, actually. 9 means you really thought about it, and decided that it was ALMOST perfect. It's by no means perfect (needs to be longer, controls aren't very intuitive, more than one type of zombie, etc.), so I'm stoked on the nine.
