Bouncing Around with Joy

My immediate impression was "Inkball! Inkball!" - a game which is featured in windows vista. However by nearly all accounts Bounce 2 is much more fun.

Firstly the graphics are smooth and look very soft; easy on the eyes. It's colourful and slightly detailed, although you may want to include further detail to the ball and blockers. This could include glowing effects {neon} or flashing. The basic concept of a simple black ball is cheap, but nevertheless forgivable in a game like this - it could be argued that simplicity is best. I think the background is fantastic and the whole set up just looks "neat and tidy".

The music is a great choice, due partly to my personal taste in this genre and to the fact that it is noisy without distracting you from the mood of the game. Although it isn't always required, it might have been nice to have some sound effects. A "bounce" sound or a redeploy sound could be optional.

The gameplay is both rich and shallow. The basic concept is that you are simply moving a ball around but it can be addictive. The Varity of powerups, although limited, are greatly welcomed. Classic mode is also great and there is very little sufficient evidence to suggest your collision detection is majorly flawed. Since the edges are rounded, bounces can sometimes be slightly off due to a misjudge angle on the edge, nothing more.

You might want to include checkpoints that house certain codes that can be entered on the menu. Classic mode is a nice addition that works very well. What is a little frustrating though is the linear levels that, although you have unlimited lives, are either too easy on retry or simply "do I have to go through all these levels again to get there?".

I like this game. It's a professional attempt at a game and it has worked. You've successfully created a fun game that is most pleasing to play {especially on the first time round.} I have hinted on some suggestions as to how it could be made exceptional but you have both created a decent game {with collaboration of Armour Games} and really it's something to get a little bouncy about.
