Better Work

I'd like to complement you on making a mostly anti-death film about bin Laden and finding a different way to respond to Sept. 11th. While I might have not been altogether agreeable about the type of humor, I nevertheless was releaved to see something besides another bloody torture or gruesome death scene. It's not that I condone what was done...I just think killing is wrong, and because of that, I hope that he is incarcerated for life rather than slain. I still think he should be removed from a situation where he is in danger of committing an act like this ever again, assuming that he is behind it, which now is beginning to seem more than likely. Nevertheless, I believe all human life has its own individual sacredness to it, and that it is a special thing regardless of how one chooses to waste their life or commit atrocities. It's the same for madmen as well as virtual saints. Killing one is as wrong as killing the other, whether or not they have done something terrible. Would anyone look at the people who died in the WTC, examine to see which ones committed the most evil in their life or weren't that decent or good people, and then say that, at least for that one, they deserved to die in a plane explosion or tower collapse? I should certainly hope not, because that person's death would be tragic and terrible regardless. I believe the same would apply to the terrorists now. I don't want to get too far off topic, seeing as that is not my primary focus, but I want to add one just two more details of why I think killing is wrong. One is the human cost among us. To see people become so hateful, so vicious, so wanting for all sorts of death and torture on another human being, regardless of who they are, scares me and makes me think that they are letting this situation drive them to all sorts of vengeful bloodlust. I would criticize any nation or people that would have public callings or displays of lust for death and torture of another. I think that every time I see a burning in effigy or a mob chanting for destruction on the news from any part of the world; that this is sick and twisted, and I can't fathom why people hate so much. When we lose ourselves to that anger and hate, we demean ourselves and have less to brag about as far as moral superiority goes. How can there be justice when people relish every moment of another's pain and celebrate their death? Even if one says, "This death has to be done for protection", and indicates that it is otherwise regretable, how can it be out of necessity if it still causes pleasure, if there is still the emotional attachment? And wouldn't imprisoning for life serve the same purpose? I just think people need to calm down and grow more rational, and heal the empty part of their lives from this attack that the death of anyone else will not repair, and will take time whether bin Laden dies today or twenty years from now. Two, I honestly think it will only cause more terrorism, either from vengeful followers of his own, or from people pushed over the edge by our own recklessness in striving for revenge, destroying anything that gets in our way and caring only about our own welfare without giving one thought to what we destroy or who we kill in the process. Will we ever apologize for the civilians we will have murdered as collateral? And what recompense can we offer truly? If bin Laden suddenly offered every man, woman, and child in the country, say, $10,000 dollars, is that supposed to make us feel better or make the event any less tragic? At any rate, I've digressed long enough. But I had to say that to point out the one reason I didn't make the overall score higher. It was the human bomb jacket. If not for that, I may have given the score a six based on the lack of death alone. And don't think me shallow for doing that...for I am sure that there are many people on Newgrounds.com that would give a movie a ten simply based on the death of bin Laden alone. Very good graphics as well. But bin Laden's head has a glitch so that you can't put some of the hats over his head.
