Reviews for "Graphical Text Adventure"

Hmm...

This type of game has been done before, but this one is quite good. If you had better graphics it would have been a whole lot better.
One other thing is with the arrow buttons. You can see the bar underneath them. Make them full transparency next time and without a line.

kitty-and-meander responds:

Oh yeah, I didn't even think about that. Will do! Thanks for the review!!
(hey that ryhmed..)

A good start

Well, this isn't bad for your first. But there's no reason to have any rooms with no purpose AND no interactvity. People love extra stuff that you can click on. It doesn't matter if it's just flushing the toilet, or clicking on the couch to look for change under it, people like that.

There were virtually no puzzles other than finding the right thing out of a bunch of notes.

Needs a better story. With puzzles that are actually RELEVANT to the story.

Graphics need work and practice.

Also, this isn't really worth mentioning, but it's not actually a text adventure. Text adventures are when you actually type your actions in. This is just an adventure game. That happens to have text in it. Like most adventure games.

No doubt this was great learning, but now put a couple months into thinking of good puzzles, working on your graphics, etc.

kitty-and-meander responds:

Alright, you bring up some good points that I will consider and do. Thanks for the great review!

not bad.

Not bad... I liked it. I sorta like... immediately beat it, so I'd suggest some like barrier that you can't pass until you do something to limit movement (think walls from older video games that you have to either get a key or do something to open the area .. or invisible walls that you do something completely unrelated to open them up is cool too.) Adding length and more objectives would greatly improve gameplay, but it's a good start.
Good luck!

kitty-and-meander responds:

Well length was due to my laziness and the fact that this was a test, but you bring up some points about the barriers, so you gave me an idea to make the same kind of game, but with like, levels and so forth. Thanks for the review!!

WTF

game starts out good but what the hell is up with jesus!!!! way to try and cram religion down peoples throats. try again and have more purpose

kitty-and-meander responds:

Umm, I'm an atheist that believes man has been brainwashed for the last 2,000 years because of religion. But thanks for being an assumptious asshole.

AHHHHH

not a game for the athiest!!!! AHHHHHHHH but it was cool... i like ur approach.... good game tho ive seen a couple like this before!!!

kitty-and-meander responds:

Well of course you've seen games like it before! Graphical Text Adventures have been around since the late 80's dude! And by the way, I'm an atheist too, I thought it would be funny. And most people did find it funny. Anyway, thakns for the review! Even though I find a 2 very unfair. :(
