Tarzan+ Fantasy+ Sonic=......
It's not an entirely bad premise. Alot of this movie seems to be an omage to Disney's Tarzan. The actions sequences are very similar and the song is very reminiscent of the film's score. The main character even looks suspiciously like Tarzan himself; tan skin, flowy brown hair, extremely ape-like arms and monkey-like movement. Course, it's obvious you incorporated a little bit of the stylings of Sonic the Hedgehog and general furry-stories in general. It's just that....well....stories like this are a dime a dozen. An anthrophomorphic, slightly animalistic but really humanoid hero with amazing physicality who exists in a fantasy realm of bizzare creatures, all of which look extremely similar to either animals we have in our world, or mythological beasts. The main character even lives in a arborial village. Look folks, living in trees is RETARDED, it's the biggest fantasy cleche around and it has no practicality. As for the overall plot of this story of yours, I have to agree with some of the other members here; this seems to be going nowhere. The first "episode" is merely the main character running around a midly original world. There's no actual dialog to convey a plot, hell you didn't even bother to put a little dialog in the beginning of the episode to explain where exactly we were or why we should care about this hyperactive monkey boy who is in serious need of looser fitting pants and a shirt. The general feel of the movie seems to be yet another entry into the cleche fantasy genre that is clogging the artieries of newgrounds. "Long ago in *insert mystical realm name here* there existed the *insert name of good magic/religion/kingdom/etc* which was good, but then/soon the *insert name of evil magic/religion/kingdom/etc* came along and spread chaos throughout the realm. The only way to save *insert mystical realm's name here* is to place the burden on the shoulder of *insert name of animal/human hybrid hero* and his underdeserving and unexplained powers" It's seriously just the same thing over and over. The graphics of the film were pretty good, but the repetitive reuse of that borderline-sprite running motion looses you some points. Overall, its just an akward start. It's not a total loss overall, but your going to have to show a little more originality with this story. I'm sure alot of people will come in telling you I'm full of crap. That's fine, everybody is entittled to their opinion. I'm simply saying you need to work harder to really make this story shine. If you want to take that as an insult you can, but it isn't. Now show us what you can really do with this.
