Pretty good

While at its core it's just another side-scroller, the addition of rage and health regen is pretty neat. It was fun how, as you gained rage, your fundamental playing style would become slightly altered. The voice acting (what little there was) wasn't bad, though until you learn what all the moves are it's kind of confusing.

It also inspired me to make a Fury Warrior on WoW. Level 9 right now, woo.

Most of the sounds in the game were taken from Warcraft games. The voice acting is no exception. :P

Zomgz, thats a sweet game liek:P You probably can tell already, im a WoW player too. 90% of the people who review WoW related submissions are WoW players themselves and they instantly fall in love with any game or movie just for the pure fact that they like WoW...which undermines the authors work sadly.

But anyway, onto the game. Some folk didn't like how you drew the environment with the lines etc not perfect and therfor the collision detection wasn't spot on always, but thats whats cool about the game. Its a style on its own doing it that way, FancyPants Adventures done the environments that way and it worked there.

Graphics were only slightly above average id say, they could have been worse, or better. It was very smooth and lag free though, so props for that. Games are so fkin' annoying when theyre all shiney and uber grapchical but you cant play them because the browser or player can't handle the anims etc.

Someone else also complained about the sounds being repetitive as the 'out of rage' speech cropped up when he was using the normal attack. I figured this was because you would want to do a normal attack in mid air but the game thought you wanted to do the air special one...hence, t3h annoying sound repetition.

Interacticity, hrm, definately could use more attacks...4 attacks isnt too much. (I noticed you could do one if you hold down the attack key while running, which wasn't mentioned in the tut.) But still a tidy game with those 4 attacks.

One thing though, you should maybe reconsider your humour. The jokes are definately something you would only get if you played WoW and even at that, they werent too funny. The better ones got a slight...'heh' from me, nothing more. Maybe you wanted them subtle...

Overall....a better than average game definately, and worthy of the front page. But you should DEFINATELY make a sequal, and with the engine you have you could make something really great.
Btw, remember shield bash...theres a new move for you. In this game, shield bash would have been uber useful as it would have had a knockback and stun so you could tear up enemies. :D

Thanks for the review! Believe it or not, I got my name from a 60 frost mage I had back in the olden days. :P

About the collision detection: the foreground is actually just for show, there's an "under-floor" beneath it which is made up of boxes and is usd for the detection.

About Whirlwind: Yeah, there's no normal aerial attack, so it gets kind of annoying if you hold attack all the time. But what's a warrior game without hearing "not enough rage" all the time?

About the humor: Yeah, the humor is a lot more subtle than the last game, but what can I say? It's tough to fit humor into a game like this.

About the next game: Already working on it. :P

Thats actually the real gameplay of Warriors ! You need rage to DPS and you need DPS to get rage.

it was very good, but the gameplay just missed something.
such as a block button, a shield/sword combo maybe?
Without the block, YOU TOOK DAMAGE FROM EVERY SINGLE MONSTER , so the HP was very sparce, the rage was often the only way to beat monsters without taking dmg, as the jump attack is completely overpowered. there isnt enough rage, you have to take dmg to deal dmg , building up your rage, then killing a few monsters, but using most of your rage to just fill your HP back up again. its a very good game, i just didnt play for very long becuase on the bigger boss type monsters, without rage...it was impossible.

Funny you should mention Whirlwind, the aerial attack as being overpowered. It was actually NERFED from the last game, but I guess there's still some tweaking to do.

Also, you can parry. You parry whenever an enemy attacks you but you're not attacking, which results in you taking half damage.
