it gets very repetitive after a few minutes, i could only play for about 5 minutes with out getting bored.
if you gave your ship guns so you dont just fly into the rocks then it will give you a bit of a chance

Phunky Physics
You're given a limited shield resource, that means you have to have optimal time to react. Giving someone a finite amount of protection and then launching them headlong into the fray is poor design. Your ship literally lurches forward into the asteroids as soon as you start.
Next, if you are penalized for "hanging back" you might want to either fix that or let people know that just cruising along that left side also depletes your shield.
Next, not that anyone can focus on it, but the shield meter bgcolor/text combination needs reworking. Even on a decent card and monitor I can't make out what it reads half the time. Yellow text maybe? How about the shields starting off green with white text, no fuzz around it, for the first 25%, then move to yellow with black text for the next 50% and then red with yellow text for the last 25%.
Next, the little squiggly blast lines are pretty weak. Even in a simple graphic environment like this one, don't stoop to that. Little gradient circles would do just fine, don't be cute.
And finally, humor aside, with a game that people are obviously not enjoying, I'd change the witty text at the end to something other than, "Well that was pathetic." Because when I saw that I said, "Yep, it sure was."

You could improve the maneuverability of the ship OR increase the room size since it's so small and no room at all for dodging the meteors.

BTW a game of a ship in the space avoiding asteroid isn't a new idea you know....your friend could have been giving better idea.....
but it was addicting anyways
