Man that was depressing. Good idea though. I like how the whole thing was laid out. It was kind of difficult since you didn't have much to work with but good job.

I came to farm, not learn about politics. WAY TOO HARD. everytime I managed to get something going, its like the hardships were meant to destroy EXACTLY what I just created. I understand it was made to send a message....but at least give the gamers a chance to have some fun?
Great game, better message
While browsing through the reviews, I noticed that some people missed the point here by calling the game "depressing" or saying that the events that happen (drought, war, common occurences in poor African countries) were impossible. I disagree with them. You managed to demonstrate an issue by making a good addictive game. This beats every intergalactic war shooter and whatnot because it has substance and a purpose. I salute you.

For the person that just left a review (probably, unless someone left one right before me...) talking about how there aren't any good things at the end of the year, thats a lie. I had many good years for my crops, where they added like 100 or something like that to my output of crops. And I keep going back to play this game :3
Now as for the game. I loved it. I like sims, and this game was a good one. Yes, it can be a bit depressing, but thats why you try to make it not depressing by building your farm up good! And win the game! You have to make the future bright, duh lol But yes, I do keep coming back to play, I added this to my favorites so I don't have to search for it all the time :P Hmm, I would change... probably add sounds/animation. That would make it awesome. Maybe a bit more in depth to things like, the marriage... and how all they do is leave the farm, I'd like to know where they go! xD I dunno... but Really it was a good game.

Aside from the fact this game has no sound and no animation, I thought the idea behind it was really good. The problem is you forgot that it's a game and that games are supposed to fun. I found this game to be very depressing, and the fact that pretty much every year results in yet another screw job, it turned out to not be very fun. I can read all about 3rd world countries in an encyclopedia; that coupled with my own common sense means I don't need a game to show they have a hard time. If you remake this I'd suggest going a little easy on the player and throw in some more 'positive' occurances. Death, disease, drought, and poverty with no foreseeable comeup on the horizon doesn't keep people coming back for more, just incase you didn't know.
