Reviews for "Cuboy Ep.1"

This needs to be on TV

First off, I have no clue to why I kept putting off watching this until now. Maybe I was just afraid that a whirlpool of awesome was going to crush my skeleton.

The graphics are clean and smooth pixel art style. The Flash itself is clever and has an excellent flow. This is a breath of fresh air when you consider that a typical Flash movie is:

1. A faux anime (as in learning directly from anime instead of reality) starring Mary Sues and other character design don'ts.

2. A video game movie that uses nothing but old video game graphics, some made before the author was even born. If I wanted to see Super Mario World graphics, I'd play Super Mario World.

3. Gradient hellish circle-tooled tween-fest that relies on other people's jokes. None of these age well at all, and I'd much rather see the original source of the joke because there's a 99.99% chance that I'd be looking at something that doesn't make me want to puke on the keyboard and require laser eye surgery.

I deeply anticipate Episode 2.

EdibleCastle responds:

Thanks for the review, Big Guy. Although I have to admit Cuboy really is a total tween-fest and I'm proud of it.

The new best thing!!

Ok, not exactly 'new' because this came out in february, but i discovered Cuboy through episode 2, so bear with me.

This series is absolutely amazing. Genius in the way that it is classicly quirky and yet uses a type of humor never seen before - that sort of thing where things just oddly appear, dissapear, happen, etc. like the high five thing, or the the giant toilet. that sort of stuff is just absolutely brilliant. You are a master, please never, ever stop making these. Oh and sorry to be reviewing the second one in my review of the first, but one of the additions that i love in the second one is the light-up cube thing, with the smiley face in the middle. just a little something that made me smile.

i just wanna know: what did you do to make this? like is there some specific cube-a-rific program you used to make this, or is the entire style just a very thoroughly consistent way of drawing and presenting your cartoons?

EdibleCastle responds:

i have a wireframe of a cube in my library... i just duplicate and manipulate that for each new prop.

idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this should be a game i love this flash
