Reviews for "Flash Element TD"

Truly Awesome.

Very good game. The best defence game I have ever seen. Though it was kind of annoying when the creatures got through your defences and started taking money. Maybe there could be a health bar for a sequel?

I think this has been overlooked... really...

No joke but I believe this is front page material... and only 24 people (excluding myself) have reviewed it, perhaps the system is flawed a little.

Graphics: I liked the tower designs, the enemies, and all the effects. There are few problems here:
- I actually think it was too much, I mean near the end of the game it could slow your computer down a fair bit if you have too many turrets.
- I think the bosses should have been creatures, not spectres (but that's probably just me).
- It look cooler if you could actually seen the explosions from the fire turrets and such.
- I also think that each time you upgrade a turret the projectile should change too (plus it would be easier to recognise the turrets that aren't upgraded).

Style: This is a fairly unique game, I seen another like it but a lot more basic. Other reviewers said it looked a bit like Warcraft (I have never heard of it). It's nice to have a defense game where I don't have to aim.

Sound: All the sound effects were great really, but at the beginning of every level when they say something that's kind of hard to catch. Also, some enemies feel the need to scream when they die which wasn't all that pleasant (especially harpy rogues).

Violence: Nice blood effects, but a dying sprite (where they fall over or explode or something) would be more violent then they just dissappearing.

Interactivity: The main part really, I really enjoyed playing this game because of it's high level of interactivity. I liked how you could still build and modify turrets mid way through the game.

Humor: Not really funny, but I am assuming you didn't go for this trait.

Overall: Excellent game, perhaps you should make a sequel, if that gets more popularity perhaps viewers will check your other stuff too. It deserves more credit.

Guide for the n00bs:

1). Never spend more than you need to survive a level, for example if the enemies can't get past half of your defenses then you shouldn't buy anymore, you should try to save up mone as you'll get more out of the interest. If however an enemy manages to get to the end of your firing range then you should perhaps buy another turret or so.

2). Earth turrets aren't particularly effective at all, don't buy these.

3). The basic turrets are good for the first ten levels or so, but after that you might want to sell them so you can build more elemental turrets.

4). Water turrets work well with fire turrets (despite the obvious), the water turret will bunch your enemies together and then your fire turret will be able to do more damage per shot.

5). Rocket turrets aren't as good as they're made out to be, they do a lot of damage, but they don't possess any spalsh damage which will be your downfall in later levels (so don't rely on them).

6). Try to build your turrets in good positions (for example; in the centre or near a corner (especially in U-turns)). Don't put a water tower near another; there purpose is to slow them down not kill them

My strategy (got me over 24,000 points):
1). Build one arrow turret and upgrade it once (build in a sensible position (like the top left part in the middle field)).

2). Build another and upgrade it also (don't build them too close), and if you don't think you'll be able to do it them build one more.

3). If possible upgrade the first turret.

4). Upgrade the second.

7). Use the wood you attained to research fire and from then on use the wood you receive to upgrade your interest rate. Biuld one fire turret and sell one of the arrow turrets.

From then one build a fire turret only if you think the enemy has a chance of escaping or upgrade one of your previous ones. Continue to sell the arrow turrets.

In the boss levels; I advise you to just let them escape, if you think that the amount of money you need to spend to destroy it is greater than what it's worth then don't bother (make sure you can beat him up half way though), you can still get money from the interest.

I apologise if you have been offended in this review.

Sorry for making the review so long....

Cool

I liked this game. It's one of those games that prove you don't need awsome graphics to like a game. It's simple, easy but gradualy harder, and is addictive. maybe a little to addictive...

Great take on the warcraft 3 battle.net game

This is a great game and gets really hard, just like most of the warcraft 3 games, I found a glitch that can really help ppl who are new to this. Start a game and build a few towers, then right click and press play. It brings you back to lvl 1 with all the towers u had.

Availability

Its funny how popular these games are on WC3 and how much work people put into the triggers for the mods. When a more accesible and equally satisfying gameplay exists in flash.
