Jargons and cliches aside....
One of the top films this year. The film reveals mankind's insecurities deep down, the fear of getting old, weak, immobile, and impotent. It touches you because it interprets the feeling of a struggle to move forward, barely making little steps and knowing that you probably won't get there. Yet it is still humorous, with many subtly funny movements.
Jargons and clichés aside, I like this animation because of its personal style. The old man probably even looks like the creator (that frontal close-up... well never mind). The movements of all limbs, the chin, and the stick are especially well choreographed. It sure had a big comical punch. The taxi took the old man to a better place fast alright, but I wish that the cab company had a better name.
