I can completely say this, though : those nekos are like cousins compared to the real 2chan website.
Having had seen this for the first time, it was amazing. Revisiting this has given a lot of a bigger impact with understanding what's happening. Despite this being a very old animation, it still is excellent, the song just is able to fit in perfectly, and this holds a great place in my heart.
