Reviews for "Merry Christmess"

Awesome

This was one of the best movies I've seen on NG in a while. Great job.

THREE DAYS? OMFG!

That was one of the BEST submissions for the christmas comp I've EVER seen. Well done.

Great storyline, great animating, and, just bloody brilliant. I'd be surprised if you didn't get some form of award for this.

I laughed. Hard.

I laughed so hard I nearly woke my parents up, and they are on the other side of the house through about 4 walls, two sets of closed doors, and a running fan. This could be because my walls are thin and the fan is quiet, but it is more likely that your flash animation is just comprised nearly completely of "awesome" and "win."

Your technical details were close to flawless. Your animation was consistent, crisp, colorful, clear, and pleasant to look at. Although you had no voices, you had far more than the standard background song, and indeed utilized music to tell much of your story and to set moods. Many parts of me doubt that you could have put this flash together, technically, than you did.

It was, however, your selection of detail that for the most part made your flash humorous. The touch of the Dad committing seppuko over the loss of the PS 3 and the Nintendo Wii was classic, as were his unrealistically toned muscles and the fact that he was always smoking. The shots of the various characters in line, such as Bobba Fet was a nice touch, as was the expression on the face of the Great Buy employee as he saw the angry crowd rampaging towards him. The great part about all the awesome funny details is that they were wrapped in the cloth of a beautifully woven story. Each joke and each detail was made all the more funny since it had a context within which to be viewed.

I feel it is here that a slight digression must be made. There are two potential flaws in your otherwise perfect crystal lattice of an animation. The first is the "note" about the protagonists, and the second is the censor-bar. I say that these are potential flaws becuase they can be perceived as flaws by the unthinking, blind, or generally brain-dead. To the observer that has within him any brain function at all, they will appear to be either humorous - as in the case of the censor bar - or to move the plot along and add a bit of atmosphere - such as with the "note."

Overall, I will say that your ending is truly what capped it all off. I have seen plenty of "meaning of christmas" flashes come and go through the portal as of late, and have been mostly unimpressed with each. It is only this one, perhaps through a fantastic blend of storytelling and humor, that has truly, I believe, carried the message true.

-Merry Christmas.

LOL

It's was like "Mission : Christmas", and the end was beautiful
