Reviews for "F2Jam The Music Game v1.0"

Great Game Play with Some Problems

Okay, so we should have expected one of these music/sync games to come out here on newgrounds. Some really good things: good music selection and great replay value. Also the failure bar makes this an interesting game to play. The crazy play selections are great for those who have mastered all the songs. Some bad things: there are a lot of sync issues. To get perfect, I have to actually hit the key slightly before the bar hits the red line. Also, there is no apparent beat in the song, other than the flashing red line which is too small to notice when the notes are flying down the page. My suggestion here would be to have beat and half beat lines come down the page/ imprinted in the queue lines so that we can recognize the in time beats. Without a solid way of figuring out how to press the keys in time, your game would be flawed and ultimately lead to a lot of confusion on the players part. Other than that the game is fun to play. Another suggestion I would have is to use more depth in the key strikes. For example, you should make the red keys be (z through ?), yellow ones (a through ;) and green ones for (q through ]). This would add great depth to your game. Also you should try to have the notes be in some logical order. Again you probably tried to do this in this version, but it gets muddled when the keys do not hit right on beat with the nots. Oh and one last suggestions. When you try to put faster runs in queue, one yellow strike, gets rid of a chunk of yellow notes, which means that we automatically get bads and misses for the not-in-time notes. I can see that you have range marks on each of the notes, My suggestions, shorten the range when playing runs.

Sorry, I didn't notice that. Thanks for finding that out. I'll fix it for next release :D!

You are one million percent correct! I can't believe I forgot those!!! In O2Jam, they had those. I'll definitely add that in for the next release!

I'm not sure what that means but PM me a clarification. I don't understand what you mean by more depth.

Sorry, I tried to fix that. Seems like it didn't work too well. I'll double check it.

Thanks for the review, it was REALLY helpful :D!

THIS WAS AWSOME,

very good game, nice effects, nice songs and variation. nice difficulty,

one problem tho. when the bars are scrolling down it looks like ther are two of them. ya. anyways had fun playing this game for about forty minunts then my eyes started to hurt. nice songs again.

in a sequel, mabey have some actual licensed songs, but im not sure if you would watn tot do that, but watev, jusat add mor songs

Thanks for the response, I'm going to add a lot more songs for later releases. (Though don't expect the next release to come soon because I have a lot of school work and can only work in weekend. :/ Pity me :P)
Well, I would add licensed songs but I don't think that'll be legal xD! I'm adding songs people suggest to me though. If you want a song in, just PM me.

Love the rhythm games!

This game is fun enough that it is giving me carpal tunnal syndrome! I just wish there were some more songs for it!

this is a great game

this is such a great game, good music, and easy controls.

Very nice rhythm game.

This was very well done! At times, it felt like things were getting out of rhythm, but after a few more beats, everything went back to normal, so no big complaints there. As for the difficulty... Ironically, on hard mode, the first half of Defcon Zero almost got me but I managed throughout the second half just fine, but Hokages Funeral was surprisingly easy. Just the same thing for each hand, and it didn't even require the space bar.

Here I was just saving it for last because you marked it as the hardest song. I'm thinking that you might have done that because it was the longest, but is just wasn't all that challenging. I haven't lost on any of the songs, so I'm hoping that (if there's a) next time you could either include a more difficult mode, or jazz up the hard difficulty. The two extra modes were interesting, but I'm pretty sure they were there just to confuse, when all I wanted to do was enjoy a rhythm game.
