Reviews for "Mad Vlad!"

A little on the slow side...

If this game had the pace quickened a little, it would be absolutely awesome. The problem being that Vlad isn't the quickest guy in town. (I have a dead grandfather who moves quicker) and that is what really lets the games down.

The graphics are cartoony and they look pretty good. The sound gets a little annoying after a while, in the way any arcade game should, but it's not so annoying that you refuse to ever play again.

It is clear that you've thought this game through. Are you planning on a sequel (or another version of this) or are you making this just a one-off?

Paranoia responds:

The speed is due to the lag. It's supposed to run at like three or four times the speed it does, and probably will in the year 2070 when we all have supercomputers...

As for a sequel, I'm not planning anything directly following on from this, but I will probably do some more stuff with similar gameplay / graphics.

(And less lag).

its good

but the movement, as far as walking, is way 2 slow. also add more different attacks that u kan string together in a combo. also add a shop u kan go 2 after each level & spend those orb things(that u collect) on upgrades & weapons & stuff. otherwise good job.

Paranoia responds:

Slowness = Lag. I'm sorry, OK :(

Somewhat refreshing.

I liked this gmae a lot, but it did disappoint me some. I liked the animations (except the falling one was kinda odd) and the feel. I didn't like that it just lacked the feeling of advancement, like feeling like you're doing something. The gems made me hope for some sort of upgrade system, but it was just a % completion type. Oh, well. The game is actually really easy if you have the patience, so I guess that is what also agve me that feeling. Overall, I liked it, but it could have been better.

Paranoia responds:

It's not as good as I'd have liked, but meh.

And what's with everyone expecting some form of upgrade system? It's a p-l-a-t-f-o-r-m-e-r. There are plenty of them which exist fine without having fancy upgrades and crap.

This has potentail

It wasnt a bad game over all but I see a few flaws one your charecters attack is way to limited in range and hard to discern where its aimed at so for example. When I fought the first boss I couldnt even hurt him. Secondly the music man. Simply put it was horrible. A side apart from that that its seems to be a pretty straight foward side scrolling platformer. You refine it some this could be a real great game.

Paranoia responds:

You couldn't hurt the first boss because you're not supposed to attack him while he's walking.

I appreciate problems with the hittesting, but really the only ones I found were the crows which, I admit, had crappy collision detections, and the guys who were suppoesed to be invulnerable anyway.

Decent game

It was all right, but kind of limited. I liked the bosses. The soundtrack was pretty cool, too. A few bugs: when you die and try to continue, it wont let you join any level. Also, once I got hit and, as I was dying and flying through the air, I got a heart, and so when I hit the ground I was still alive. That was kind of cool, though...

Paranoia responds:

I'll try an fix the bugs. Thanks for the feedback.
