Reviews for "SAW 3: Body Chains"

Claymation Hell

Always liked claymation...good work.

not too shabby

very gruzzly as far as claymation goes.... yet oddly entertaining..... good job keep up the good work

not bad

i like the beginning, where the music is building up and the light flickers on... and then the out-of-focus panning around... the disorientation... that's also done reasonably well... and then the heavy breathing and suddenly the hardcore music kicks in... the combination of the claymation style in this horror scenario is quite funny... and yet the sense of terror is somewhat there as it evokes memories of the previous SAW movies.

I think you can make more like this but improve your techniques and quality...

maybe if you built a larger sized clay model? i can't tell exactly, but it looks like its fairly small, so that may explain the lack of details and clear recognizable shape at moments.

Hmm

I'm really sorry, but I have to review this in a negative light.

I am a huge fan of the SAW movies, so I was very interested in viewing this, and had high hopes.

Unfortunately it let me down. The first sign of disappointment was at the beginning, where you've voiced over "Hello newgrounds public". You could have at least used a sound editor to make your voice deeper. It just seemed really silly and couldn't be taken seriously.
The placement of music was pretty poor too. It didn't seem to flow, and was interrupted by new streams of music at different points.
The whole style of the editing just seemed very low-grade and could have been vastly improved.

However, you didn't do such a bad job on the modelling and animation. The room in which the scene was set was actually quite impressive.

So to conclude, your claymation is pleasing, but sadly let down by your unpolished Flash editing. Practise a bit more with that, and maybe even look up some tutorials on hoiw to improve it, and you'll end up with a great result.

Definately not to be missed.

Well, this was seriously impressive to watch. It looks like you put a lot of work into this one. I actually just recently saw the first two Saw movies for my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed them. (But not to the extent of everyone's "awesome" reviews.) The setting, the trap, and the film editing really made it look like a scene straight out of one of the Saw movies. The only thing I can really see improved is perhaps using something besides clay for the blood. Strawberry jam? Ketchup? I don't know. Either way, this is truly awesome. Bravo.
