Reviews for "'Neonoids"

Nice but...

It lacks of originality... Most of the game theme is based off Neon... Still, it was a good game, but try harder next time.

Disarray-yarrasiD responds:

of course its not orriginal I said it was based off neon, plus it didn't start off as a game, just an OOP asteroids test. I really liked neon so I decided to madle the test after it and soon gave birth to neon's little brother.

Bouncy music

In my PERSONAL opinion...The music did not fit the basis of the game.

It was fun for about 2 minutes.

I will try and go back and play it again later.

Can the banter.

Instructions are to shoot everything and that some power ups are good and some are bad, that's it. Then when you die you get the "You aren't very good at this are you?" Um, if I had some better instructions I might not be.

Also, the powerups don't carry over to the next levels, making them good for what? The levels are short and getting the powerups then losing them doesn't make me want to scramble to pick them up.

The echo lines on the ships starts to hurt the eyes after a while. Yes, good sense of movement, but it could be toned down.

Good for about 5 mins of play.

pretty good

it was a little boring but not very bad
the only thing i couldnt figure out was how to kill the shielded badies on lvl9

Enjoyable for a little while.

I thought it started off pretty well, the movement graphics played hell with my eyes for a little bit, but I quickly adjusted. Other than that, I found the graphics pretty plain. The grey backround wasn't that inspiring and there wasn't much variety in the other stuff that was used.

The controls were good, it felt nice controlling the ship with the mouse rather than the keyboard, it would have been nice to have some keyboard alternatives in there. From my view, the lack of a pause button makes it suffer a little, since you pretty much have to start over if you need to go away for more than a few seconds.

Sounds were good too; the music and effects had a very retro feel to it, and considering how old the asteroid-like gameplay of it is, it fits in perfectly.

The game as a whole also suffers from a lack of variation. Once you've done a few stages, there's nothing really there to make you want to keep going, or anything that makes you want to go back to it after you've stopped playing.

It's not that bad though. Kept me going for a few minutes.
