Reviews for "Submachine3: the Loop"

Not as good as SM2

I felt that this Submachine was missing something: ambiance. SM2 had story, art and music that was kind of creepy. SM3 is too clean and distilled; there is no story until the last puzzle and the only time I felt the soul of SM2 was when you first see a broken map. The puzzles were on the easy side except for number 2. I feel as though this would have been better had it happened during SM2 and not as a stand alone game.

Walkthrough

First thing you need to know is that there is a map by the right of the starting point. The X on that map is the beginning of the level (0,0)

Second thing you need to know is that I am not going to describe every single detail on how to do stuff, I'll just explain some logic and that's it. Sometimes i might explain what you have to do.

Third thing you need to know is that THERE IS AN ITEM TO GET. THE LEAF!

Level Zero.
Grab the binoculars and click the button.

Level One.
Check the map. Go to every point in the map and click the levers

Level Two.
This one was tough to figure out. Go to 1,1. Push the lever, the nuber that results there is the number of the room you need to go. (example, the number was 23 then you have to go to room 2,3.) repeat 5 more times.

You should be able to figure it out onwards, but if you still need help I shall help you.

Level Three.
Oh, it'll be a pain to explain some levels...
There are six dots on the map, four of them are some machines, and two are levers. notice that the four machines have three moveable numbers and one that cannot be changed? Good. Now do you notice that the position of the locked up numbers are diferent for each machine? I think you already know what to do. you have to make all the machines present the same number. I don't think I need to go any further in this.

Level Four.
This one is a mayor pain and it's ridiculously obvious. There are 6 switches, each one presents a diferent number of balls above it, the numbers vary from one to six. It's too damn obvious, if you need more than this you should stop reading. (hint hint, press the buttons on the order according to the number of balls above it. But i think you already know because you kept reading.)

Level Five.
I do not know what's the logic in this one, so just kept trying every combination everywhere, it's easy to get all combinations done.

Level Six.
I Well, there are seven dots on the map, one of them is a thingie to put symbols onto it and the six left are symbols with numbers below them. Just put the symbols corresponding to the number below them on the thingie, then press the button on the floor.

Level Seven.
What you must be thinking now is "DAMN THE MAP IS BROKEN! WHAT NOW!??" or something like it. Well not to worry, I shall be your map here. There is a level at 0,-1, pull it. go to 0,1 and check the wall, memorize the order. from 1,-1 to 6,-1 are machines, you gotta make them match the pattern on 0,1. Not that hard. Go on, try it. When you're done, go to 1,1.

Level Eight.
Go to 0,-1 and type in that machine the numbers 1,1, push the lever, then go to room 1,1 and pull both levers. Repeat with the number of the three other rooms on the map.

Level Nine.
I'm too fucking lazy to descripe this one to you, the thing is, each letter is a color. there are 2 amachines, one with only letters and the other one with only colors, make them show the same colors. Then push the button on the color machine

Level Ten.
there are two maps, one clickable and the other not. Go to the clickable map (-1,0) and make it exactly like the original map. Then go to 0,-1 and pull the thingie.

Level Eleven.
I'm not gonna spoil this one for you, I'll just tell ya the puzzle. Go to the room (1,0) and observe the grid on the wall. The “x” is for the first room (0,0). Go to the rooms (0,1) and (0,-1). Note for each color initial the corresponding value (between 1 an 6). Example: BPY=231 means Blue =2, Purple=3 and Yellow=1. Go to the rooms (-1,1) and (1,1) and set for each color the right level by using the buttons. Example: Purple=4, use the bottom button two times to decrease the level of the purple color to four. Go to the rooms (-1,1) and (1,-1) and click the levers. Go back to the room (0,0) and click the lever.

Else you can just follow the letter.

Simple yet addictive :)

Cool game, I haven't played the others yet (which I will go and do in a sec). At first I thought "Ugh, this is probably going to be nearly impossible and frustrating", but tbh I really enjoyed solving the puzzles and they weren't that difficult either :) Very nice game, nice use of graphics and good work with the ambient sound. You have my 5 :)

Now off to play the others and find out how it began :D

bad

i read the walkthrough for level 2 after being frustrated with it and I have to tell you it, the "solution" is the dumbest thing in the world. There are many, many things you could do with such an array of numbers, and you chose one at total random.

Because future puzzles probably will follow the same pattern (i.e. solutions chosen at random) this is not worth finishing.

This sucks. I'm on level 2 and it looks like the only way to solve it is to set each of the dials to the same as its position. That is total crap seeing how you have to try an average of 25 times per dial.

Mateusz-Skutnik responds:

no, thats not the way. the game has been on the net for some time now, find a solution if you cant pass this.
