I want to learn Japanese for some time now, but the free sites suck and i didn't have the money to learn it properly. Just one question: i read on a site that there are different ways of counting depending on what type of item you want to count. is that true?

Yes, that's true. I'm gonna include that in the second lesson. Most of the numbers stay the same, but shi(4) becomes yon and shichi(7) becomes nana and kyu(9) becomes ku.
