cute...

corny.

yogh3 responds:

Your a very "short" person, aren't you?

Potential talent:

As an animator, I must put the "needless to say" disclaimer of having a bias towards my own particular likings of animation, but I will do my best to be fair in every way...

Graphics- I see this is your first submission, and considering that while none of it was too impressive, everything was impressive and no mistakes were made. The lip sync was enjoyable as well.
Style- I accually find it a bit charming that you have the romatic heart to publicise a gift for your girlfriend. While the general audience may not understand most of the humor, I'm sure that it's a truckload of giggles for the two of you.
Sound- I would strongly recomend that if you choose to continue the "alvin and the chipmunks" style, simply record your voices at a regular pace, and tweak it with the hopes the audience will pick it up. I can see what you were trying to do, but I dont think that all the technical parts translated very well.
Violence- The violence in this thing is about as maniacle as a box full of kittens.
Interactivity- You have a play and a repeat button. I dont think you are looking for alot of commentary on interactivity.
Humor- With all the cute little elements in the background and all the little changes in the animation, mixed with the fact that this is specifically for a girl, I really did get a laugh...

Comments: You are a talented animator. Dont expect something so short and so audience specific to make it to the front page, but dont be discouraged. With some plot enriched flashes, you would easily do well to become a popular artist on Newgrounds.

Nice!

Okay, I'm going to try to ignore the whole sickening cheesy aspect of the pet names here (because that really watered the whole thing down and made it obnoxious), and focus on the movie itself. Your animation was great, and the humour was splendid, especially with the stuff going on in the background. The voices were funny (although a little annoying because of the slllooooooowwwww spppeeeeeeeeeeeed at which they spoke). Overall, well done, and overall I liked this animation a lot.

I understand that this was a lovely parting gift for your girlfriend, but please consider leaving the cheese out of it for the rest of us next time -- unless it pertains to the movie itself. There was no obvious romance between the two characters in this movie, so there was no reason for the mushy extras.

That said, I'd love to see more of your work. This was really good and really funny.

yogh3 responds:

LOL... Sickening and obnoxious to one person is loving and nostalgic to a girlfriend. But I do not blame you! ^_^ I am thankful that you (and anyone else) enjoyed the humor. Did you get the thing with the "Hair" aerosol can?
I am glad you enjoyed it! And glad for everyone else who did! For those who did not... sorry. I know you must have felt you could have spent your time a little more wisely.

hahaha the chick can get pretty creepy i see.

yogh3 responds:

LOL, no... A little silly at times, but creepy? ... Creepy? ... o_o
Just kidding ^_^ I made things happen to correspond with how the conversation sounded. (When we recorded this last year, we spoke slow to see how it would sound sped up.) During the recording, she laughed because her voice sounded "spooky" when she spoke... We had a laugh messing with the audio afterwards too. :)

Don't want to write a summary.

I'm sure it was a lovely parting gift and the fact that you made (instead of bought) it must've made it even better. However, I just don't think it's the kind of thing that's going to go over on NewGrounds too well. I like the style, but the sound was a little shaky.
