umm...

I'll be honest, I didn't play it for long. The graphics weren't bad but they weren't anything special. The sound quality was bad, kinda sounded a little funky. It started out with no story and the controls didn't react very well at all.

To be honest the last two are why I couldn't stand to play any longer than killing the first ogre. That's not to say that it didn't have potential, just that it needs a lot of work. I know it's not finished, but I never could get into the demos I played for a lot of console games without some sort of storyline to catch my interest.

On to the controls, it was simply that it didn't react well to pressing buttons. I would press down and then try to turn right and he would keep going down or just stop. I don't know what was wrong, but I hope that my rambling helped some. Good luck with future projects.

Instructions!!

Never, ever submit a game to the portal without instructions in it, whether the game is done or not. Other than that it seems like you have a good start.

Eh, style is great.

Style isnt the only component of a game. I think the fact you can send messages to people is cool.. but i dont like the fact that you start the game surrounded by ogres. Makes things a little more... logical. Like i said, +10 for the spiffyness of gadgets you added. To bad they couldnt be used to their full potential.

Slow and Monotonous

Maybe the full game will be great, but there's not enough here to tell. This seems to be nothing more than a test of the basic combat and movement engines. Which is an important part of development, but probably shouldn't have been uploaded to Newgrounds.

The only comments I can make on what little is here is that the movement struck me as annoyingly slow, and just standing next to enemies and holding down the space bar gets boring really fast. Again, maybe the full game, which presumably will have a lot more to it, will be a lot of fun, but I don't think you're doing yourself any favors by making public this bare-bones test thing this early in the production cycle.

Good start

Given that this is under development it looks like you have a good start. But might I recommend that you give a movement list so we know how to interact with the game. Anything I could probably critique right now is probably something that your already aware of, so I'll just leave it at "this is a good start". My overall score might be a little high, but I'd really like to see this one in it's complete stage.
