always fun seeing different depictions of the mimic, especially when they are fun designs like this one that add more details than just "chest box with teeth"

I like to imagine what is visible is just an appendage of the actual creature that is hidden beneath the floor, and it grabs poor adventurers and drags them down to where its mouth is.
