you CAN make a motion tween to the blur thing. add 20 blur effect in the first frame and 0 to a keyframe on the 20th frame, right click and then click "create motion tween" tadaa

And this is a nice tutorial, sadly after my first project was blammed about 10 seconds after I posted it (and I don't blame people) I decided Flash was for smart people, unlike me.
