Reviews for "This is not a Test 4"

Interesting action-type flash movie

All of the "This is not a Test" movies are awesome, although they're all pretty much too short. What I'd recommend is instead of releasing a 5 and 6, combine 5 and 6 together to make a good-sized This is not a Test 5. For example, TinaT 1 and 2 should have been combined (2 was a continuation). Same thing with 3 and 4.

This type of flash movie is my favorite type, and I'd be doing stuff like this if I ever start to make flash movies. If the author wants people to vote high, I suggest making Not a Test 5 the length of Scrotum the Puppy 4. I think I can speak for all when I say, THAT would be an affective way of getting high votes.

Over before it began

Sorry but this was over far too quikly!
The grapics were nice but it could has done with a plot. How about trying something more meaningful than eye candy next time.

Am I the only one who hates theses?

The graphics are good I give him that. As for the rest, crap. It's too short, there isn't enough animation, and there is a complete lack of story (except maybe in this guys head). What this guy needs is to find someone who knows how to write a story board, then maybe I will consider giving him a score higher then 1. Also scrap that vote for more garbage, if you are going to do flash animation do it for fun not for your ego.

Short, but sweet.

The artwork and effects in this - and all the other Test movies, for that matter - is top notch. There are many small, but noticeable, effects which make it look that much better, such as the spinning desk chair. However, it is much too short. Making short movies and then asking people to "Vote High for More" is somewhat unfair in my eyes. Other than that, however, this is a good movie. Keep up the good work, Brian!

Another Great "Test"

Brian's work is consistently several cuts above the normal Portal fare, and this new episode of the "This Is Not A Test" series is by no means any exception. I particularly admire his deft integration of animation and music, choosing to use trance techno which builds excitement and interest without overpowering the actual content of the scene. Additionally, this provides a nice break from the lame KoRn loops so many others choose to use.

Attention to detail and smart use of "camera" angles is another great aspect of Brian's work. Both of these show up nicely in the short shot of the three characters in the office from above. Few other authors employ such "cinematography." In this shot, we see that the recently abandoned office chair is still spinning slowly. Very nice touch.

My only real reservations on this short are the characters, whose designs I, personally, think are rather juvenile, the disappointingly short duration of these installments, and the pseudo-Japanese characters flashing behind the characters. This looks quite cool, but I doubt they mean anything (and they are too fast to read, unless you are actually Chinese or Japanese).

Aside from those fairly minor concerns, this short is top-notch.
