Reviews for "Striplings 2060"

Heh.

This is pretty good.

I liked the sling shot especially.

Oh, yeah, and the secret move was just brilliant.

Man. Great stuff. I kind of didn't like the whole scrolling death part, but after some thought I decided it meant the difference between a game and a simple play through once. Whee!

BoMToons responds:

Yeah, originally it chose completely at random and that was REALLY annoying...I thought, as you noticed, that the skill required to choose the deaths would present gamers with a challenge and bring it a step closer to an actual game...though it's still mostly a gadget.

...

in can be annoying but its a good game to pass the time... there is a way... which i cannot say... hehe... i love the babality move... oh... and the friendship move too... i've seen all of them already... even the secret move... im up to 175 hahaha... and yes, i AM that bored... haha... and that's a good way to keep people hooked by the way... tell them theres something at the end and that'll keep 'em playing... good strategy...

BoMToons responds:

I've never said that there's anything worthwhile at the end of the game. Don't waste your time.

hmmmm......

Ive been reading the reviews and it never ceases to amaze me how strange people are, you have given them a damn near impossible challenge and even told them not to do it because the ending isnt worth it, but they still try.........GOOD JOB!

BoMToons responds:

It's really weird isn't it?

So...addictive!

Make more, but make one that ...er...we have a slight chance of winning.

BoMToons responds:

I'll think about it.

Just Saying

Curious if anything happens as you lose more, I decompiled it and there are some hilarious messages:
"Hey, still playing after 25 losses? You know there\'s no way to win this game right? You\'re not considering going for the full 2060 are you? If you are, I\'ll be checking in every 25 battles to keep you company."
"50 battles! Wow, you are really dedicated. In case you haven\'t found the special move yet, it\'s right after the \'present icon\' and right before the \'fireball.\'"
"Whoa! This game was never meant to be played this long. I admire your stick-to-it-iveness."
"100 battles...and you haven\'t won. What keeps you going? Well, you\'re almost 1/25th of the way there. For the sake of your sanity...please stop now."
"Didn\'t take my advice eh? Well here\'s a little tidbit of knowledge about this game: it was mostly done with frame-by-frame animation, meaning I didn\'t use many motion tweens to achieve the movement of the characters. It lends it a very distinct style don\'t you think?"
"Oh sheesh, I have to keep writing these things...and I\'m only doing them once every 25 battles."
"I really don\'t think anyone will get this far...if you\'re reading this...YOU HAVE NO LIFE!"
"Ok, if you\'ve gotten this far, I\'m guessing you\'re going for the gold so you don\'t need motivational messages to entice you to continue, so I\'m gonna start doing these every 100 battles now...I only have so much time."
"Still at it eh? You have some serious problems. See a doctor immediately."
"I hope you\'ve eaten something recently. It would be sad if your obsession with this game impacted your health."
Not showing due to lack of review space.
"I wish I had some secret to tell you to make this all seem worth it, but I don\'t. See you at battle 675!"
"I really enjoy programming in flash. I don\'t have any experience programming using other languages (except for webpage stuff)...I wonder if I\'d enjoy it as much."
"Enough about me, let\'s talk about you for a while."
"You must be really bored...or obsessive compulsive."
"I\'d say you\'ve passed the point of no return. You better hope your computer doesn\'t crash or something or else then you\'ll really feel stupid."
"You know...it\'s not worth it...no game is worth this."
"I saw a lot of kids in my freshman dorm in college throw away their academic careers because of video games...I\'d say there\'s a 75% chance that you are one of the people from my freshman dorm."
"I just hit \'save\' on my original file...I bet you wish I\'d programmed in a save feature for this game huh?"
"I bet you\'ve seen every move at least 10 times now. That\'s really, really, scary."
"Shouldn\'t you be reading your scriptures or something? This game is a serious waste of time."
"I bet you\'re starting to hate me for making this game...please don\'t seek vengeance."
"I\'d like to make flash cartoons and games for a living...I draw immense satisfaction from putting together a project and completing it and then posting it on the web for all to see."
"Yeah, I was 100% serious when I said there\'s no way to beat this game."
"Maybe you should try out some of my games that ARE beatable...www.bomtoons.com...please for the love of..."
"Hey, if you\'ve come this far, you might as well finish. You won\'t be any happier if you do though."
"Most people think there were only 2000 stripling warriors, but if you check the scriptures I referenced in the \'story\' you\'ll see that there were actually 2060...crazy huh?"
"You\'re almost there...only 40 more battles. This is as bad as real war!"
"Seriously, I know I can\'t convince you to stop now...but I guarantee you\'ll be disappointed when you get there."
"Just one more battle. Wouldn\'t it be funny to just quit right now?"
"We\'re sorry, but our princess is in another castle...just kidding. Hey, I\'d like to give you a reward for getting this far, email me a screenshot (press \'prnt scrn\' on your keyboard then open microsoft paint and press \'ctrl-v\' to paste the screenshot in then save it and attach it to an email) at info@bomtoons.com.
