I personally thought the religion joke was bloody brilliant. It was a great connection in linguistics, and a clever word play. There really isn't anything to be offended by, because the reference is used merely as a similarity in verbal sound. The person quoting the Quran is simply praising Allah and isn't actually doing anything degrading to his religion, so nobody should be so angsty.
