Reviews for "Gekisen card game"

Erm

This game sucked for me because, The oppenent in the training mode is like, godly, i cant really win it.
My suggestion is you lower the a.i. performance.
I'll give you a 5 for the graphic and gameplay.

alright review number 100!

First off i just want to say that i REALLY like this game and anything i might say thats negative is just constructive critism.

This game is HIGHLY addictive and i love it, ive been playing off and on for a few months and i still play on a regular basis. The artwork is nice, as are the music and SFX (a little corny at times but gets the job done). It is pretty strategic although some may disagree with me but im not nearly as bad as them and having a long match makes up for lack of cards you want, they will come eventually.

Now the stuff to work on:
ive been to your website and was happy to see that the second installment of this game is due out in 2008 ( im hoping sooner ) and i just had a few things you might want to implement.

-Work on the spelling, i didnt really care that much but it sometimes gets to me after playing for a while, just try and google words or something, its not hard.

-Tournaments are WAY too hard, you have to face 6 opponents? really? thats crazy, sure you start with 120 but i had one match where i only lost 4 points and lost the rest of my 116 the next round. Also if you get knocked down to whatever you should still have a cap of 120 the next round so say you have 43 going into a round you should still be able to heal yourself to 120, might make it a little easier.

It would be awesome if you could add a multiplayer feature to play others online, just a thought.

-When you make a belt you lose it just as fast, just one loss and you drop in belt? thats a little harsh. Try two or three loses on the same belt maybe? It could make it actually possible to get that highest belt.

-The big one is the deck, VERY random and as others have pointed out, lacking in attack cards. I only wish that in game number 2 you could make a deck, after each winning match you could get a few cards on random that you could put into your deck, and maybe after tournaments you could get boosts AND a really good card? also each card is generated at random so its not like you could ever be getting closer to a damage card.

All in all i love it. i just wish these things could happen bc i would love it even more. You have a great thing here and i cant wait for Gekisen 2 to come out.

5/5 and Favorited

Really good, but....

Really enjoyed this game, but it is also a little misleading. The game talks about taking non-belt matches to raise your stats. This leads one to believe that by winning matches, you will somehow improve. That is not the case, however, as the entire game is based on a luck of the draw system. SUre, you have to know what to DO with your hand when you draw certain cards, but there is no way to help yourself ensure a victory. You draw tons of cards that are almost no help at all. A lot of times you can have the opponent on the ropes, only to find that you cannot put him away for lack of damage cards. If you make anotherone I suggest that you DO implement a stat system where the number of training matches you win or complete actually does help you get a decent hand. Or something like that anyway. All told, I enjoyed the game, it just has some weak points.

Great, but...

I love this game, but there are some problems. Certain draws will just ruin the fun, getting hit early by bleeding or the enemy getting regenerate, after that, what's the point? Some of the over-powered cards need to be toned down. Also, I FINALLY made it to gold belt, and... nothing happened. It took me a while to realize the game had finished! An ending scene, or just a congratulations, would be nice!

Good, but it has some issues

The main problem with this game is that luck plays to big of a role here. I more than was was stuck with high offense, high defense and absolutely no damage cards for a long time... A little more customization would have been nice. But it is fun.
