Reviews for "A Robot Killed His Family"

Well animated.

I really don't care if it's sketchy, the movement flowed quite well. The only real advice I have to offer is to find some different music, what's currently playing is kind of annoying.

mrwesticles responds:

Stupid Beethoven. I'm going to write that guy an angry letter. Thanks for the comments, though.

A Robot Killed His Family?

Lol, sorry for the misleading summary, but I just found that rather humorous. Interesting off-the-wall idea, kind of wondering where you got it from?

Anyways, I'm going to try to steer away from what has been already said. It flows great, lacks background blah blah blah.

What I Think:
Not just another fight scene. It had it's own originality to it with just a dab of style. A good submission by any means.

What Would Change 'Good' to 'Great':
The obvious has been stated. We're dropped into the fightscene and are forced to use our imagination as to what exactly is going on. While this is fine for some people, it doesn't work. If you want to create a masterpiece, I say if nothing else lead into this. Perhaps seeing "A Robot Killing His Family (prologue)" before "A Robot Killed His Family" followed by "He Killed the Robot that Killed His Family (epilogue)" then ending. Add in a preloader and give some background story (even if this is just preloader text to give the viewer something to read while it loads).

Anyways, I hope this came out as it was meant to. Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing more from you.

mrwesticles responds:

A very well thought-out review. I appreciate your advice I'll probably use a lot of it. A sincere thanks to you, my friend.

dRAWINGs

well i can't lie i am a sucker for scetches, i liked the karate stuff.

mrwesticles responds:

In the case of "Fight or Flight" the former is always the best choice. Always. Even in the case of angry Tyrannosaurs. Hmmm...that sounds like a good idea for the sequel. "A Tyrannosaur killed his family." Has potential...

Decent

^^Good Points^^
The animations are very smooth and look quite nice and pretty realistic. I was really impressed how you animated the man flipping. The sound effects were well-placed, and the music was a good pace for the movie.

^^Needs Improving^^
The title doesn't leave much for the imagination...Also this is a little boring since there isn't any background and very little color. Add some coloring and some simple background items and this will look a lot better.

mrwesticles responds:

All elements that I'm looking forward to adding to the next one. Thanks for the valuable input and I agree completely.

Hmm.

Unlike the previous viewer, I'm not a sucker for sketches. Still, things were well executed, music well used, and the sketches were actually of a higher quality than found normally on Newgrounds. A masterpiece? No. But a good job, and one worthy of being kept around. I look forward to seeing you improve in the future.

mrwesticles responds:

Thank you, and your mercy in helping this survive will be rewarded with something newgrounds can really be proud of in the future. Hells yes.
