Reviews for "Kw- Scottish Heartlands"

A real review.

Well, you took a few hours (like I), and got what you expected, something low quality. The bagpipe sounds detuned and it doesn't really fit the sound exactly. It sounds like a flute or different wind instrument would have worked. Credit though, everything else orchestrated sounds good. But the bagpipes seem like that fellow that just doesn't fit in. Also, I can see your samurai jack feel, but you need more hip hoppy beat to get there.

Hahah yeah, it was just a quick song, and I thought i might as well use it for thecoreman's competition thing.

Has depth, but still hollow

I love when piercing sound of bagpipe (if I'm not mistaken) shows up after the beginning. It kinda tells me the story along with strings you've double octave with. Still, I feel that the piece still lacks something to make it full. Yes, with very dark bass you put and possibly cello add depth, but they are still too far to unite with sharp sounds of melodies, imho.

Overall, it's very enjoyable. Love it.

nightsurfermusic responds:

Haha thanks! :)

Very nice but...

You have a great soundworld, but the actual scottishness of this piece leaves me feeling it is lacking. Perhaps trying to use modes and giving it a jawnty jigglike feel would improve this.

Your virtual instruments sound amazing!, what do you use...

Look forward to hearing more!

Thanks for the comments. I used Edirol and Kontakt Player 4 Free.
