Reviews for "Leon : Terracotta Murders"

moving gets annoying

those green arrows are hard to find sometimes...maybe you could add a little box in the corner with the arrows of directions you could move...or just make the arrows show up at all times and maybe smaller so it won't hide things

MrDDK responds:

I thought about that, but I felt it would have looked odd with the arrows always there.. although i did provide a map for you to quick navigate.

I need help

I got rope, and the NEW Brochure. I can figure out what to do. The tourist won't take the brochure

awesome but hard...

i got to the part where you have to break the code in the warehouse after i used the chisel but then i dont get how to unlock the thing (cant get the rating up...), but still...great game!!!

MrDDK responds:

I notice the guide hasn't been loading for people. i've had the images compressed now to half it's size, that should make it easier to download.

here's a walkthrough as you know i beat the game

Go to the back of town where that kind of motel, the lamp in the middle will look like it's climbable but you can't yet but be patient.
While going there take the brochure, of course you can't trade it whit the guy yet you'll now he want's an old brochure. But for now go to the fortune telling place and take the rope. Now go to the market's and find the mud puddle dip the brochure in the mud, then
go to Leon's house and use the hairdryer whit the brochure. Now you should have a brown brochure. Then go back to the guy whit the hook, offer to trade the old brochure for hi's hook. Then he'll
notice he got scammed... but he won't care because he's go a spare =)Then use the hook whit the rope, and go back to the motel,
then use the climbing tool whit the middle lamp. Then you should see a little cutscene.you'll find out there next victim is at the warehouse.Take the pieces of paper and tape and use them together, and as i told you you'll find out their next victim is at the warehouse district. Now go to the market and click the left arrow, you should be at the warehouse but you need a pass to get in so we'll make one heheh...Take the scissors on the ground. Then go ask the fisher to get a big fish while he's distracted use the scissors on the vinegar. Now use you scissors on that picture left of the fisherman.go to the fourtune teller and ask her to tell you fortune she'll pcik up the grim reaper card then run off like a crazy fagette, take the card.Use the picture whit the rental form(you should have) and then the grim reaper to make the pass.Go the warehouse on you now what then bllablahblah...Use the chisle to bash the lock thingy. You need to adjusts that crp... im too lazy to write it.After a long piece of shit cutscene (if you did the lock)ul get a paper of victims, you'll see the last victim including leon and his sister of course... but you wont die if u go succesful in the ending)then go to the resceptionist ask where he lives.youl find a gate blocking you way. Then go to fourtune teller youl find a chest.
theres a puzzle but its upto u to figure.. well u need to light them up.after take the key and use on gate.go in house pick up cellphone
and paper ull see al victims are in ul call on phone but there no battries.Use the giant batterie outside whit phoine.Ul see a cutscne and u are now in a cell.take the puter off elyon and take the wires use them whit the patatoes and use that whit putter.now pcik of the rock and use it whit the door then ul get another hard puzzle.after that click in the middle bar use stone in hole and guard will die...
then a cutscne..after the boss u have to dodge fallnig rocks and laser's use space close to bomb then click again on him to pwn him.
then ul get on the jeep and ccarefull riding or you may just die... but dont worrie if u do ul restart the car part.

This is an awesome game, but has a few flaws

This is one of the most impressive flash made rpg adventure games i've ever played, or seen. The game play itself with the mystery murder theme, the finding clues, the creative ways of using items to get your somewhere in the game, is brilliantly made. I could tell that this game had a great amount of effort spent to it, due to the huge size of the gameplay itself, and the relative fun difficulty. In overall, the plan, the effort, and the creativity of the game itself is just impressive, and I will grant this game a 5 every time. It's a pity that it is not getting that great overall ratings, but maybe I can point out a few "why's".

First of all... I owe credit to enjoying and aweing over this game so much is that I confess I did it the easy way: a "game spoiler" guide (the guide was impressive and meticulously made too). This probably made the gameplay itself MUCH more easier, and simple.

The "difficulty" and complexity of the game probably is why many people didn't just give a big "5". I must confess that if it weren't for the guide, I would've been stuck on at least every 10 minutes of the game. And because of that, it causes frustration, which can cause a fast "not good" rating. Since I used the guide though, I actually could enjoy the game, and appreciate how well the game was made. I noticed most people couldn't even get pass the brochure trading thing (which is only about 1/4 of the entire game).

Besides that, I guess the "movement" of that main character was a little bit sluggish, unrealistic, and difficult. The only thing I actually had complaint about in the game play was the movement. I think if it was just the plain old up, down, right, left buttons, it would've been much simpler, and great for most people. P.S. In the last boss battle, using the annoying mouse clicking movement was a huge PAIN. It was near impossible to move fast, or to coordinate a proper attack while messing with the mouse to move. Using the right and left buttons would've been SO much easier for the boss battle.

Otherwise, GREAT GAME (automatic favorite)

MrDDK responds:

Thanks for the good review, and your right I should have made the movement faster, but if you had read previous reviews, you'd know that the program I made this in doesn't suppourt keyboard button presses, so I had to make do.

Even if it did suppourt keyboard button presses, I would have to script a very complex system to stop Leon from walking off the screen or through walls... but who knows... maybe if I make another one I might come up with somthing.
