Potentially great.
4/5
There is tons of potential in this movie, yet there are also quite a few creases that if ironed out well could change this flash from being 'good' into 'perfect'.
The graphics are in most cases beautifully done. Although there are signs of slackness in some areas and animation at times were choppy. (Still the general quality of graphics outweighed these downsides).
The style, at least to me, seemed decently original until the 'choocabo' type things, and the propeller driven flying ship came in. I would have preferred it without such, borrowed, ideas.
The sound was a bit iffy for me. The guitars at the start flowed great with what was happening. Yet I felt that when the 'doc' and the wounded characters started having their conversation the music no longer suited. A downside, which was amplified by the lack of audio voices.
The violence was there (although violence isn't the only thing which makes a fantastic flash), and the play button provided all the required interactivity for a movie.
Humor was there with the conversation although if we really want to split hairs it may have done better if it had been cut shorter.
Overall what I did really like was the diversity of characters and creatures and the generally fast paced flowing action that successfully holds the viewers attention. Also the animation, though stiff, moved the characters extremely well.
Great stuff. Can't wait till the full version comes out.
