Reviews for "Lost in a Dream Episode 1"

Nice animation.

I loved the graphics in this as well as the random images tha ttook place within the dream. I cannot wait for the next episode. This was very intriguing and it left me wanting more. Nice job.

Was that the cheshire cat's smile at the beginning

Interesting idea. Since it's an introduction I can't say too much more about it. The sound was pretty good, but I had to turn up my speakers quite a bit to hear some parts. The flash has a very 'animated' animation style that I liked. And I don't think you give your audience or yourself enough credit. This introduction wasn't difficult to understand at all. I think it would be a pretty bad introduction if it didn't make sense.

Good concept...I hope it'll go somewhere...

Interesting...especially the speech by the statue. Just don't make the kid so dumb like other movies with the same idea often do. I don't think the constant 'where am I?'s and 'how do I get out of here?'s are needed. Surely anyone in that situation would slowly start to realise what was going on. I know that when I'm in a dream...I know I'm in a dream.
Overall I'd say reasonably good...I think the next episode will make my mind up.

Ok, But To Much

As a First episode the statue said ALOT, he almost descriped the whole story. The end seemed like a CliffHanger BUT since the statue was blabbing to much i could guess what was going on. This is probbaly gonna couse a lack of info in the future 4 episodes so you might have to change your story line a bit.

Meh... okay, but--well, I'll explain:

When I started watching this, it seemed okay, but I soon realized that it just wouldn't cut it. My first red flag went up when I saw the character design. He seemed imbalanced, like his head was too big for his limbs, but in not in a good, child-like way. He just didn't seem very solid or believable. You were trying to do a lot with the animation, but were still relying too heavily on symbols and tweens. I can tell you were going for a more fluid, realistic style of animation, but it was stuttered and awkward, to say the least.

Story-wise, I think you revealed too much--way too much--for the first episode. That speech by the statue basically said in one minute what you could have taken all 5 episodes to reveal. If you wanted to get it out of the way in the beginning, you could have had a title sequence or something after an initial teaser that could have said it all dramatic with a cool voice-over. That's just my thought.

Beyond that, it was average. Not bad, but nothing special. I'd say keep going with it and see if you can't push your abilities further.
