Thats actually a really sane reason.
Is like why the heck would a lion eat a mouse, not enough to satisfy his hunger so just let it leave.
So is perfectly understandable taking in account that Eiko is a super long mutant she needs alot of food, Clive is a real fucking tall mutant which in facts mean more food to actually have the energy to move while Dakota only eats blood means she will be the only one maybe full but we dont know how much she ACTUALLY has from drinking from her parents.
So yea thats and actual reasonable reason while they can also make her have more meat to eat later.

Oh my goodness! I love this comic so much! I can tell that you've put a lot of lvoe and care into making it! Also, the character designs look very cool and they have a lot of flare to them!

I like to think the last panel is just Eiko fucking with Kelly for being a bigot towards mutants.
