Reviews for "A Koopa's Revenge"

Best amateur work

Very nice game. Somewhat challenging, but the save feature makes up for it. Nice music. My only complaint is the jumping animation. If you make it look like he's actually jumping instead of "running in midair" or "standing in midair" you got yourself a better winner.

Awesome

Good choice of music (altho somewhat glitchy, I'll guess it's cuz of the compression)

Controls kept good and simple, cool. Custom graphics but even better than sprites. Diversified boss attacks, lots of stages, which aren't linear...

I give it a 5/5 because of comparison to other amateur work. If this was a commercial game or something I'd give it a 3.5/5 tho because there isn't much put on the storyline so it's not very rewarding to get to the end.

Oh and some boss fights were....ugh, man....last boss's first phase attacks were too quick. (If you stand at the wrong place you get hurt automatically when the fists appear)

Thanks god you included a save load system too.

Lambtaco responds:

Thanks for the compliments. If you watch the last boss carefully he has a tell, he spins his fists before he punches directly infront of him. You're the first person to mention the save system (I think that's what got me front page), about 3 levels into the game I realised people wouldn't be able to finish the game in one sitting, so I created the save function.

Good game

My only suggestion is to make it possible to continue from the place you died instead of completing the entire level again.

Lambtaco responds:

If you reach the halfway flagpole you retsart there after you die. Thanks for the review.

Good game.

It's a good game, runs smoothly and no errors to speak of yet. I do have a suggestion though, you might want to check the 'damage' detection. I often find that if I don't jump on an enemy the right way I'll get hurt (along with the enemy getting hurt too). I understand this should happen to a point but I'm thinking it's a little too picky still.
Otherwise, good game, very good.

Lambtaco responds:

Perhaps you're jumping onto the noses of the yoshis. Although I have noticed some problems with the purple yoshis. Thanks for the review.

This game was really good.

I made it through the mountain stages before I got game over. It took me a long time to get there, and I was still less than halfway through the game. Pretty cool.
