A blast knocks the soldier out cold.
He wakes up a feels the open wound on his head. Pretty Bad; he's gonna need med help. He picks up his M4A1, and sets out to find the rest of his squad. He knows the wound could kill him, but if he finds his squad, then maybe...
No. He wouldn't. He looks down the hill and sees hell. Thousands of people on the ground, dead or dying. Of those, his squad. bullet holes in their chests, their heads, their eyes. None of them alive. All of them are dead. The soldier drops his gun as tears well up in his eyes. There's nothing he can do. All of his squad, dead at his feet.
