Reviews for "Defend the North Pole"

Um how do you go to the next level?

And heres a cheat.... Hold down shift and control at the bonus screne

MercuryLime responds:

holding control turns on dev mode. Would I actually PLAY the game each time to beta test? =P

You can also press control and up to increase your level. but... shhh.

Someone hacked the highscores....

Anyways great game :)

The graphics were very good. Very smooth.
The sound was pretty good. I liked the remix pretty much.
It was a little funny in ways i cant discribe.
Overall: Awesome game :) it was totally worth the 30 minutes i played it.

MercuryLime responds:

Yeah, I noticed. Hopefully I'm gonna get a better highscore board tomorrow.

it was good

but when you hit the barrier, you kept on walking in place. i don't know why but that annoyed me. you need more attacks and maybe even weapons. also, the kids should come from ransom sides, not just one. because it makes the game too easy and predictable. also, there should be bosses of some sort. but overall, very well made game.

MercuryLime responds:

thanks for the reivew! Yeah, we didn't have enough time to add everything we wanted..

Very dull and not challenging...

Graphics-decent, added to the point of the game

Style-very repetetive, not hard, and the game got VERY dull after a while. Here's some pointers on how to help this category's score up big time.

a.)Make more challenging

-Have kids coming at you from both sides of the North Pole
-Have bosses of some sort
-More upgrades
-Have kids attack back
-More powerups

b.) Make more fun

-Add threatening notes from the bad kids every 5 levels or so, and make them somewhat humorous.
-Have a super-weapon or attack for Santa.
-Have a special defence on the North Pole (like a shield generator or a turret).
-Have sound effects for the kids flying back and/or create a battlecry of a sort for them

-And just as another idea out of randomness, it would be cool if you could make a grid map (say about 16 squares) of the North Pole and fight the kids with Santa and his elves on certain squares of the map. You could, persay, CLAIM squares with outposts, and defend your own and attack the bad kids' outposts. The squares could be random terrains (except for the North Pole, which is in the close middle of the map).

-Just an idea...

Sound-Pretty good, though it would be nice to have a varient of Chistmas music...

Violence-Decent

Interactivity-Decent

Humor-Thought it was funny to see the kids flying up in the air : )

-Hope this helped out in some shape or form. This game has great potential as a great game.

-But good job, hope to see more from you : )

MercuryLime responds:

thanks! this is a great review. I love the idea of a grid system... I may have to make a whole new game around that idea. =)

thanks for the review and suggestions!

ZZZZZZZZZZZ

When does this game get challenging?

If you can hold the "down" button, you can play this game.

Absolutely no challenge whatsoever. The only time I took damage at all, was when the game glitched and didn't let me hit the odd "kid".

This game needs a serious retooling, adding any challenge at all, perhaps an upgrade to santa's power (so that it takes less hits to kill the red guys who just became annoying when I had to wait for them to come back on the screen). I don't know if these could save this game, but I found it insanely dull!

MercuryLime responds:

Eh... I made it harder, but you probably won't think it's enough. I guess I'll test my next game more before I release it.
