I have no intention of learning flash in the near future and i normally vote 0 on all the tutorials that come throught the portal. However, i do extensively use Photoshop Indesign and Quark and i know that for a good tutorial to teach you something they can't just give you the end result and say, "well, it should look like this." They have to show you what to do and why you have to do it that way for it to work, and i think that is why i gave this tutorial the time of day.

YES

I rated this a 5 for one reason, and one reason alone. Because unlike a lot of the other tutorial making noobs on this site that have no idea what new people need to know, you not only showed the actionscript, but you explained what it did. Everytime I see a tutorial where the author says "just copy paste this" I want to punch them in the damned face. Good work. You should do some more action scripting tutorials.

Good but could better!

Dude, it was good and I think a lot of people will like it except for the fact that just about every memeber here on Newgrounds knows this already. I would rather use this:
on (release) {
colorthis = new Color(_root.colored);
colorthis.setRGB(0xff0000);
}
This AS is placed on a button.
Then you would have a Movie Clip with the instance name of colored.
It's a lot cleaner and quicker.
But nonetheless nice tut.

well not really, thats when u want to change the color, i used color as an example, u can use the code for various things
