Great job

I love the piano.

As always, great stuff- it works well, has a great flow, changes step and still returns to the piano (?) from the beginning by the end of the piece. I swear you are my favorite musical composer from Newgrounds. Great Work; 5/5; DL'd, and Fav'd.

P.S. Was there any doubt about you getting a 5/5 from me?

mjattie responds:

wow, thanks man, off course I get a 5/5 of you: I wouldn't have thought otherwise xD Yea it's a piano xD

Maybe now I get it

Well this makes more sense now I read your comments on the what this tune is about. Certainly its has a sad sound to it.

I was not really grabbed by this tune to be honest I did try to but anyway the sound was good. I liked the sound of the children that had a tragic sound to it. I found the piano quite dramatic and good and the sound is of good quality.

My main problem was the sound it did not seem very exciting, mostly the piano looped and I found it got boring quite quickly. I found the sound kind of muffled don't know if it was my speakers or not. The sound did have more moments around 1.32 mark I liked it . Its pretty to listen to but constant tune did not grab me.

I did not enjoy this to be honest it was lacking In appeal and the kind of muffle put me off not as clear as I hoped sorry to be so critical.

mjattie responds:

hmmmmmmmm

I appreciate your review, but I don't really agree that this song hasn't got much variation and sounds muffle... That's a thing that's certainly not true if you ask me... I think this song is one of my most not-muffly songs... About the monotony of the piano, that's a personal opinion. Because the chords change but the melody not, I get a melancholic feel... That 5/10 is a bit harsh then...

Pretty good as usual.

It is said that if you want to put emotion into your piano playing, you should not think about your notes, but rather how it makes you feel. I think you did that with your story about the car accident. That is good.

At about 2 minutes, it almost seemed like a new song was added to the first; it was so different from the first half that it didn't seem to flow for some reason. It could be just me, but I couldn't put the 2 parts together as one piece. Something was missing to tie the 2 parts together.

Again, it could be just me, but the glitches sounded like bad equipment rather than an intentional effect. They ruined the piece for me.

Otherwise... good stuff! Just be aware that you cannot please everyone, so take the criticism lightly and only change what YOU want to change.

mjattie responds:

well, it depends if you like glitchstyle/dnb. If you overal like it then there may be something wrong with it, but if not, then I'm not very worried, then it's just a mather of taste ;)

well I understand what you're trying to say, so it's not quite useless, and I think smoother transitions will be in my next song ;)

Wow...

This was truly touching. Your take on the song, while somewhat odd, really gives the song meaning. The piano is beautiful, very well done... you always did play nicely. The percussion, with a slight bit of glitch, is also well done. It has a nice flow with the bass and the ambient pad in the background. The combo of the piano, bass and percussion is excellent.

You really did a nice job man! Congrats on getting to the EP, and make more songs like this one! :)

10/10 and 5/5, for sure. This is going on my favorites too!

mjattie responds:

I wrote a nice review on your ep song btw, but ng somehow did not send it... I only wanted to say that I really liked it and that's it a shame that you're not on it :P

thanks for your compliments :)
