Reviews for "Blockhead: Episode 3"

***This is a GREAT Series

$$$I mean it 100%.

Make MANY MANY MANY more ! ! !

Great Work. : )

I liked it.

The guy who was talking to the main char is a lot like Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, A lot! Maybe you were going for that, I don't know. He's a great character, Carl, good man, very funny. Anyway, keep at it, made me laugh at parts, well animated, etc. etc..

Great series

I'm not necesariallly too interested in the main character having an emoticon-face and the exteriors being photoshopped pictures, but I really like the voice acting and humor.

The-Swain responds:

Thanks for the review :) <-- emoticon - I actually wanted to answer a few things you brought up, as they're good topics:

First, Blockhead doesn't look the way he does because it's easier to draw - drawing so many "perfect" circles freehand is so taxing that it tends to drive me crazy. I'd much rather switch to human heads, but that's the nature of Blockhead's character, so I stick with it.

Second, and just so everyone knows, I created all those backgrounds myself - even the photoshopped ones. They're supposed to look like those late 70's and early 80's backdrops that you can tell will not be animated because they look like paintings. The neighborhoods were copied by me (by hand, using the digital brush) into photoshop and altered using further paint-style brushes, and that is significantly more work than, say, a flash background would entail.

And that's just so you guys don't think I'm short-changing you with a lack of effort. It's only top-notch, grade-A work for you chaps.

Hehe. Funny funny funny.

Nicely done. :]
Graphics were nice (could use some more shading and shadowing). 8.
Pretty stylish and original. 9.
Voice acting was good. 8.
It was funny. 9.
An overall nice piece.

There were a few instances where it reminded me of shows. The guy in the chair reminded me of Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and the way the main character was acting towards the chipmunk reminded me of Cartman and his cat from South Park. The main character himself seemed like a teen, yellow version of Dad from "Dad's Home." :0

Heh

I've always found this series funny, but you seriously need to get new theme music, sounds soooooo lame.
Other than that, great job, I always laugh at what Blockhead has to say, especially about the fat lady at the Burger place, lol.

The-Swain responds:

Goodness, I couldn't replace the "Blockhead Jingle" with something less lame...though I have been experimenting with other lame background themes to play during the episode. And thanks for the review - I'm glad you enjoyed the cartoon :)

The same goes for everyone else who has previously responded - whether you did or did not enjoy Episode 3, I am thrilled that you all took the time to review this piece. I will try to be more expansive with my responses in the future, but I will flatly state that all of your reviews are appreciated!
