Reviews for "+The Dance of Eternity+"

Very very nice!

Great job on that, very nice artwork. I also loved the choice of song, Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands. But anyways, the artwork was great, and it went very smooth. In all, very good. I hope to see more!

Technicaly, Awesome....

Your skill at linking audio detail to visual rhythm is impressive, especially considering your audio choice DreamTheater is known for extensive time signature changes mid-song. Your frame by frame was a real treat, and how you managed such detailed audio synchage in only 2 weeks boggles me.

However, Flash, like cinema is not only a technical art. I suppose your flash would be classified as montage, however like many music videos, it uses montage solely to get from one short segment to another. There is no juxtaposition at all between segments. Besides an overall theme of conflict, nothing LINKS the segments together. My recommendation, should you chose to consider it, would be to treat each segment as a written sentence. You don’t just string key points together, you need transitions. (And I don’t mean star wipe style transitions). If you wish to maintain a montage, then the work should be composed similarly in style (but not necessarily structure) to a Japanese haiku; two discordant fragments at a time, linked by a common thread. for example, following your abstract line dance with flickering abstract art holds zero meaning. it doesn't say anything to the view besides "look at me, I'm avant gard, and I can use flash well!" a transition is needed to get from dancing line to Dalí.
If you’re interested in doing this, then there are a few films you might be interested in viewing. They may be hard to find, but info is available off of the Internet Movie Database (IMDB dot com)

The first film would be "Un Chien Andalou" by Dalí himself. It’s an example of a film intended not to carry meaning as a joke (Fake mise en cine).

The Second Film would be "Blinkity Blank" by Norman McLaren. His abstract dancing lines were accomplished by actually etching on the film (and audio track) with a razor blade and then paining the film. You would probably get a real kick comparing your dancing lines to his. Both you works lack implicit meaning too, so perhaps you might see how this is compensated for.

I can completely understand why you may choose to ignore this, especially coming from a Newgrounds user with no flash posts. I don't post because, as you may or may not be aware, any art that isn't parody on Newgrounds is insta-blamed. Regardless, I hope you continue to improve your flash work, as somebody with your technical skills can go pretty far.

TheDeadRaven responds:

Well Thanks but this was not a very technical movie, in fact this are just discharges according, more or less, to the movie, but i will have your recomendatioon in my mind, thanks!

that was amazing

thats something that you can watch sober of high. the music was fucking awesome, it had comedy(fuck the system and getting shot), this is some good shit. Congrats on the fineshed work.

Random, in a funny way

Yeah, it's random. I laughed when the car hit the tree. The other times, I just stared and drooled.
