Reviews for "Batman : The Red Hood"

So Unbelievably Bad

This is terrible i have never seen anyone botch Batman like u just did!!!!

didn't do it for me

Sorry but it just didn't do it for me. The more I watch different flash movies, the more I realize this is like reviewing movies at the local cineplex. Everyone has their tastes adn their interests.

It could have been alot better

This had alot of potential. First off, now I haven't read the Killing Joke, but do they superimpose the Joker's face behind the hood like that in the comic? If they don't, take that out. It just looked retarded. Also, I would suggest getting better voice actors - a desperate man with nothing to lose may sound like something easy to play, but it was dont VERY poorly, and batman's voice made me want to cut myself. The graphics were nothing to write home about, and while that's not the most important part of a flash, that certainly brought it down a little bit in light of all the other problems. All in all, I think if you put a little more time into it, got some new help, maybe worked a bit on your drawing/animation skills, this could have been really great.

Translation: You know, u did it all wrong so if u can get someone else to do it, it could be good.

?????
right...

Wrong, wrong , WRONG

Okay i know theres artistic licence and all that, but you got that so totally wrong >_<. First of all the art. It looked like the style of the excellent animated series. I thought that was a bad move though. In 'The Killing Joke', it showed Batman as he was when he first appeared back in the late thirties (long ears, more wing-like cloak etc). I think that would have had a better dramatic effect. You really should have based it on Bolland's awesome artwork. I would have loved to see the Joker's transformation animated in his style. The drawing was just too simplistic in my opinion. It wasn't even that dark and dreary, which is what the comic is. The use of grandients for the most part was a poor choice I think aswell. Secondly, the content. You based this on one of my most favourite comic of all time....and you made a balls of it. Seriously dude, how could you mess up the work of Alan Moore like that. Oh wait, you didn't. You made up some crappy dialouge and made up stuff that didn't actually happen in the comic. The so-called "summary" at the beginning doesn't add anything to the movie. The stuff mentioned isn't even touched upon in your movie and therefore redundent and pointless. Add that to the worst voice-acting ever and you got a pretty shitty movie. The music was good but then you had to ruin the mood (if one had been established) with the super happy music on the end credits. The begining of the Joker is the start of years of torment for Batman, not happy fun time. The whole movie is a insult to the book on which it's based. This may have not been the Jokers origin y'know. As he said in the Killing Joke, he would prefer for his past to be "multiple choice". Your simply saying "This is the Joker's origin" when it's really definate. The point of the book was the fatal relationship between Batman and the Joker, not his origin. I suggest to everyone not to waste your time downloading this. Buy the book (The Killing Joke) instead, even if your not into comics, it's a great read.

Gus-Saldanha responds:

The them of the Killing Joke is facing fate. How does the Joker face his fate? He goes nuts, its what he tries to do with Gordon, make him nuts facing a horrible fate after Barbar ends paralized the waist down. U see, u dont get the them of the book. I just have to thank you are the only one who really thinks the movie destroyed the comic book on which it was based.

Um... The Graphics Were Decent?

Sorry, but that's about all I can say that's good about this flash. The audio was horrible, the length was way too short, the plot wasn't very entertaining and was highly inaccurate. The only saving grace was the art which, even that, was kind of blocky. Not a bad start, but fix the audio and try to capture the personalities of Batman and the Joker a little better or start a series with some original characters instead.
