Reviews for "7 Feet under (Noir)"

noice very good

very nicely done

Classy Flash

This was terrific, really nice noirish tale your spinning here. The artwork is supreme, all very polished and given the feel of a graphic novel. It's all directed with skill too, lot's of neat little inserts and cuts using different techniques. I like all these things.
Just out of curiosity - do you storyboard and screenwrite your work?

I haven't seen the first part yet but I'll be sure to check it out based on the quality of this one. You got a 5 from me.
Well done, I look forward to seeing more.

I story board them on a notebook when I feel inspired. Sometimes I get some happy accidents that look good and I keep them. The plot will begin to unravel slowly as the characters are introduced.

Great work

That was some good work there. Like the last reviewer was saying you need to give new information some time to settle before jumping to the next piece. Despite this it was a good little piece of entertainment.

Graphics: Good work on the graphics, slightly clunky in movement but really well drawn.

Audio: A huge fan of the Sneaker Pimps and smooth jazz, I thought the music in this was excellent. During the diner scene you could add some talking voices in the background, maybe some plates clattering to give it a more cafe feel.

Keep up the good work

subcultured2 responds:

For the cafe' scene I didn't add environmental noise because I wanted to separate clara and jase's conversation from reality (she's not really there). notice how the music cuts off as the waitress start talking. It's like a twilightzone or outerlimits ending.

You show huge potential

But at this stage your film has a few flaws in it, though very minor. Mainly you need to focus a bit more on your directing. The short was rushed and relevant peices of information arent really given enough empahsis or time to settle in. I guess this was the major issue for me, your story is rich and deep but I think a lot flies over the viewers head since it passes so quickly. Also the soundtrack, which is an awsome track selection, needs smoother more distinct transitions, again it feels like things are happening a little too fast. Otherwise this is a really great short, amazing art, great animation, awsome music, rich story and a very profesional feel. Keep up this standard of work and you'll be big very soon !

Hmm...

Tantric and Deftones right off the bat? Now that's cool.
