Not bad at all
Controls worked for me. Fights were a little on the easy side but felt exactly like the older arcade walk-fight games. Might want to move reconsider the placement of the keys cause I found myself only using the fight keys and not the jump or 4th one that I can't even recall the purpose of. To use the 4th key a player would be using the principal [fight] keys with the weaker, slower fingers. Maybe reverse the sequence or make a block like ASZX
The final version will have a control customization menu :)

Looking good so far dude! Considering there are only 2 available levels to play in this BETA, it's very entertaining to say the least. I for one didn't find any bugs, and I really liked how expansive it was in terms of the actionscripting with the controls and all... I can really appreciate the extra effort taken to make moves possible like the running jump + kick, and being able to throw the planks by pressing S after you've picked them up.
The sprite graphics look pretty good, but may be just a tad smaller... a further 10% zoom would make it look really neat I think.
It was good to see that you tried to add a bit of humor in there, by adding the comments down the bottom from the 'players', but it didn't really work out i feel, as they take up a bit of the screen space, and you don't really get a chance to read them when you're playing :P
Anyways, everything looks very good thus far, very entertaining.
Study for your exams, and get straight back into this after, I look forward to seeing a more complete version of it :D

Even though some of my friends also complained about the dialogue system....well lets just say I'll keep it for now to pay homage to the old skool :P

good, but short
umm, im not sure if im doing anthing wrong or anything, but i dont think you can past the second part of the level. ive played the real one, and i noe you can. but i guess it because its a demo. o well
Good...remake
Yeah, it's great remake from a popular NES game, i liked this but there are a few problems, there were a few rampant bugs and I didn't like the walking back 'n' forth between areas just to fight, but it did bring back memories and what i liked most about it was the awesome near-perfect music and graphics, i'm suprised if you didn't use sprites. What I also liked was picking up the baseball bat and cloberin' it with the enemies when I got bored of the basic attacks, it's great game when you keep in mind it's beta, good job on this but now I really wanna play the full version... well anyway overall anyone on NG lookin' for games should try this at least once.
