Reviews for "The Manga Tutorial"

Eh...

1. It was too short and didn't explain enough. You have to take into concideration that the reader may be confused, because you didn't give enough directions. When you said how to draw hair, you didn't explain how to draw it. You just said to draw it in different styles. For the reader to understand what you mean, you have to take it by steps, and explain each step a little more.
2. There is no such as a 'newbie' way of drawing. As far as I understand, you should draw a circle for the head first, draw the chin, make a basic stick figure, and draw around it. (This doesn't only apply to the Japanese; all cartoonists must start with a stick figure/shapes) You, on the other hand, did it in such a way that would cause proportional issues. Now, I understand that proportions are only an opinion in anime, because they are not realistic, but if someone just starts out with a 'v' for a face, there may be confusion with the rest of the head...
3. Face? Legs?
4. The shading was strange, and you didn't explain how shading works. It's just 'shading'.
5. If I am being a little harsh about this, please don't take it as offense. Just know that I only wish to improve; not to... uh... destroy. (Wait, that didn't sound right!)

Well, just keep working at it. Know that you can improve lots if you just keep drawing!

Not bad...

For what it was, it was very simple but executed just as cleanly so i can't probe at that.

However, the art wasn't technically manga. It was a sort of "scratchy" americanised style of art often seen with grafiti. This may well be the way you draw manga as a person, which i have nothing wrong with, but it did delude what it actually is: A non-manga tutorial in the eyes of most people.

Nice

It was okay, I already know all that and can do much better, but nice tut, for newbies.

Needs work

It seems you have skill but if you are gonna make a tutorial you need to do less showing off and more teaching.

"now time for the torso"

*torso poofs magicially on the figure without one single instruction on how to draw it*

you see where im going with this.

pretty much every drawing tutorial on this site is like this.

anyways if you seriously want to teach people something you need to work on it.

Drawing manga is harder then it looks you know
