Reviews for "Parisienne redux"

Really entertaining!

===============
Score: 9 / 10
Summary: Really entertaining
Review: Sounds like an old love song or something. A good thing!

The intro sounds too sudden, but you've explained that, so no minus there. The outro is really poor, fading out is a cheap way to end songs. It's like a shortcut, it's easier, but not as safe, and there's a reason why it doesn't follow the road.

All in all, it's a good song. There were only a few parts that I didn't really like, where the guitar kinda crashed with the background.

Still, an all-in-all great song, that'd actually fit to some romantic-ish lyrics. Or some really, REALLY cheesy lyrics.

Ahhh a 9 woohoo :D fading out meh i guess its just really the easy way to end a song sorry :p haha i promise next submission wont fade out just for you ;)

Im glad you liked it im gonna assume the point from 38 to 50 you didnt like dunno what came over me there bit of fret tapping out of key but didnt bother recording again cuz i liked most of the rest of it and seein as its improv another take may have came out quite differently :p

it is an 80's thin lizzy/gary moore song hence the cheesey/romance feel to it :p

Pretty cool :D

Quite good. Just a few flaws here and there.

I liked the melody you chose to use as a background, it's quite catchy, and the guitar work you did was quite awesome too, and most of the time it fit quite well with the song too.

The transitions were quite well done with the guitar. The intro, obviously, wasn't that good, and I was expecting a bit more of an ending than a fade.

I don't know if you did the drums or not, but they're very well done, fit really well with the guitar in a lot of parts, were great quality, and were well varied.

In all, a good redux. The intro and ending were a little off, but the guitar was great, and the drums and melodies were great. Good job.

the backing track is just that drums n all not done by me only work i done was recording some lead guitar over it :D

ehmmm see the problem is there really isnt an intro as the first minute or so of audio got cut off somehow and as i mostly record just improvised stuff and quite liked how this turned out i decided against trying to do it again ..

thanks for the awesome reviews and scores :D

Good

The melody you play in the beginning sounds very familiar, I just don't know where I have heard this before.

Anyway, this is a very nice submission, with great melodies and a good backing track. But sometimes the instruments in the background are too loud so that everything is just a mess of noise instead of a nice song. For example at 0:38 it all gets too loud. So a little tweaking here and there is still needed. :)

Glad you like some of the melodys in the song its my favourite of the few i have up here

i dunno what the beginning is reminding you off i just play notes off the top of my head but maybe it is off something else i dunno :s

i know 38-50 isnt great just played a bit out of key thats why it sounds so off

thanks for the review ;D

If you're going to do metal

Do it properly. I think that you've tried too hard to get metal guitar and not drag the rest of the setup with you - everything needs to be metal, not just the guitar. The start is great, when it actually sounds like Parisienne Walkways, but when it gets to where the legendary 30s note hold crops up, or even just before, you decided to go a little mad with the guitar and with the drums staying as they were, you kind of had a duel going, which wasn't what you needed.

The held note needed to be something special and the scales that you were playing there really didn't cut it for me. More practice and you'll get there, but that wasn't what we were after.

Quite good.

It was quite nice to listen to..The guitar was nicely composed and there were some lovely solos.

Unlike your previous songs, the tracks worked together quite well. The only exception to this was after 0:38, when it just became mindless sound..Not sure what happened there, but it didn't ruin the rest of the song, luckily.

Whilst it was good, I just felt like there was something missing..It just didn't stand out from the crowd enough, as there are so many songs of a similar genre..

guitar isnt composed i always just play improv :D glad you liked it and some of the solo's i quite like it myself think i got the tone right to fit into the backing track nicely :)

yeah the sloppy bit from 38 is one of the side effects of playing on the spot sometimes ya get it right and sometimes(well at my level of abilitys) ya make a bad choice and that was a bad one just off key :s

Any reason or suggestion you could make towards making it stand out of the crowd id love to hear pm me if your bothered :D

thanks for all the good reviews :D
