Reviews for "Peril: Distant Star"

Very Cool.

I'll be the first to say Drum and Bass is not my most-listened-to genre of all time, but that was pretty enjoyable to listen to.
The structure is spot-on-solid, so you don't get thrown off at all by the changes of instruments. I've only been on the site a day and I know this does not equate to how utterly random NG songs can get, by any means. The transitions worked really well.
I like the instruments (the piano melody especially) and synths you used; nothing gets too piercing and nothing important gets drowned out by other things. It is a very good-quality piece, in terms of sound and everything otherwise. Good job!

mr-jazzman responds:

thank you sir =) you might only have used the site for a day, but i can tell you're a mature listener. thank you for your input, and i look forward to anything you produce!

P.S. I love the piano too =)

Goog job gonna be nice and give u a 5/5

I have alot of voting power so call it your lucky day...lol!!!!

mr-jazzman responds:

hey man, thanks for pushing my song to the #9 slot before jealous/critical people voted it lower! =) i'll keep an eye out for your stuff too =)

This is great.

That other song (God i dunno the name) that was dub was probably even more cooler. And i rarely like dub. So chew on the ten like its cake and TAKE IT XD

You set out to make a different kind of DnB....

... And boy did you! The transitions are almost seamless, such as those in a movie score. I could really see this being the background of a space-racing movie or something. Also, I have never heard a Newgrounds song go from 4/4 to cut time to 6/8 cut time, back to 4/4 cut time, and then back to 4/4! And I had to listen to it a few times to catch them all!

The varying melodies add a story-ish atmosphere, like the varying melodies are telling a story, and that story kicks ass! It reminds me of another great NG song (Buzztone Symphony by Dimrain47) in the way the melody changes so much.

The effects and mastery are wonderful! If the melodic contrast between all the parts wasn't enough, the varying filters and effects make them each unique. The Synths sound dark and heavy, then fast and light, then close and far away, and then the piano comes in and it sounds DIVINE.

P.S. It's much better than the Space Reggae :)

The track have a difficult structure. Ok.
