Thought-Provoking...
...to say the least. If it was atmosphere you were after, you grabbed it. Man oh man...did you ever grab it. That is easily the most disturbing thing I have seen on Newgrounds, or, well, any media short of Silent Hill or the "Video" sequence of Event Horizon.
Shudder. Whew. Well, you got through my cynical view on horror, that's for sure. Anyway, before I lose focus...the specifics:
Graphics: Fantastic work. Some might nail you for the framiness (ie the slow path of the flash) but I feel it added all the more to the sallow, empty feeling given by the pacing. Truly, you have an eye for what will grip the psyche. Cartoon-like or not, it doesn't matter: your sense of the macabre makes your graphic style almost irrelevent...but it works, anyway. Props!
Style: Simply astounding...I will never look at semi-tweened Sunday comic-style flash the same way again. Something about your work just screams "It's hopeless!" and for a short time, makes the viewer believe it. Again, props.
Sound: I LOVE the lack of voice...the animalistic noises used to convey the text spoke volumes more than the words ever would on their own. After all, animalistic sounds should convey animalistic views on reality.
Violence: Sick? Disgusting? Over-the-top? Sure, of course it is, but that is what it is all about. What did you feel when making this? The intensity of the action, even in such claustrophobic stillness, made it claw at my nerves. Excellent work here, as well.
Interactivity: Inducing a near vomit is about as gripping and inclusive as a piece can be, I should say.
Humor: If you intended it, I could not find it.
Again, well done. While I definitely caution people before viewing, it is a trip worth taking for devotees of the grotesque...
